My anxiety slows down a touch for all my "not going to happen" lifechangers that depend on Salvator then

That was who I felt he was hinting at too but I guess we'll see.

It’s on ‘Under The Radar’ thread I think.

That's one of the highest hurdle debut RPR's for a novice so far this season, I believe.

The Yellow Clay only managing a 138 in the Navan Novice Hurdle. Most horses seem to hit at least low 140's, that said, The Yellow Clay has had 3 hurdles runs in just over a month, so it may just be catching up with him a bit. I imagine he's doing his winning early on in the season and may be given a break soon.
The problem with trying to assess is that only the 2nd, The Enabler had run over hurdles before from the first 6 home, whilst excluding JDV then The Enabler was also the only one to have run under rules in Ireland/UK. Therefore they only have The Enabler to go off. Don't think it is unreasonable to say that horse ran his race, was given every chance and pushed out to the line. He had got a 123 RPR on hurdle/seasonal debut and was adjudged to have marginally improved here to a 124. You could just as easily argue that The Enabler has been underrated. He achieved a higher RPR twice in bumpers, both times on soft ground as opposed to the good he raced on first up this season whilst you could also suggest he has improved for fitness and experience. We just don't know, therefore they have assessed that The Enabler has run to a very similar level to first time and so with the manner of JDV pulling away at the finish by 4 1/4 lengths we get an RPR of 132.

I was actually looking at The Enablers bumper form and thinking it actually wasn't that bad at all. For some reason I didn't realise he finished as close up as he did in the Jeroboam Machin bumper.

I think it's a bit of snobbery thinking The Enabler shouldn't be getting that close to JDV, but he's shown more of a penchant for running over 2m than 3m so far in his short hurdling career. He looks like a 3m chaser, so maybe that's the reason behind thinking he's a 3m hurdler.

Still think he's after a mark. Expect him to win an intermediate maiden hurdle soon then get beat enough in something like the 2m6f at Leopardstown, before heading to the Pipe.

It could end up a nice related double as we get closer to the festival

                • Nice enough from Kel Histoire, put a gap in quite quickly and pushed out to hold the advantage. You'd imagine there's plenty more to come from him. I think he'll end up the Turners horse but see where he goes next time.

                  • Job done for Kel Histoire, wouldn't say it was very flashy nor his jumping up to scratch, but he's got it done, all the same.

Made my thoughts clear on Kilgame more than once in conversation with a few on here now, and no reason to change my mind based on that very flat performance.

                      • That's Nice finding absolute zilch there. Hoping Karoline gets declared for Monday at Naas as there hasn't been a standout mares novice yet.

                        • Country Mile absolutely hosed up there. They went a fair pace though, and the race broke down, IMO.

That said, it's still a solid form boost for Roadlesstravelled, and he's been one of the better 2m novice hurdlers in the UK, so I've had a play on the 40's, albeit probably expecting him to come up short.

                              • Thought Skelton rode that perfectly, let them all fight it out while the outsider went off too quick. Nico and Sam got into a battle down the hill and Skelton horse bolted up. The rest found very little ultimately.
