….he’s interesting, wonder if there’ll be a WTAF offer. Saying that, looks like he only appears in the Hills Turners market (25-1) so it’s unlikely it will better the 40-1 Sup and Turn with PP/BFSB cash-out.

    • No mention of Jeroboam Machin in the Emmett Mullins snippet in the RP. He does mention Harbour Highway though who was on my pre season shortlist for the AB. Not one I'd be backing though, as he's JP owned and Emmett trained so could end up anywhere. Mentions he might get an entry this weekend so hopefully see him out.

He's a PTP winner, won on bumper debut beating Mywayofthinkin, which saw JP then buy him. Last in the Grade 1 at Punchestown but you don't want your AB horse to be competitive in that. Bumper RPR of 125 which is a decent figure to hit.

Worrying about JM, maybe the injury that curtailed his season last year isn’t sorted?……his form for last year works out very well IMO, so he would be a leading contender if healthy

Why Harbour AB ?…..I had him for the Supreme, believing Emmetts better horse, Jeroboam would run in the Turners

He looks a stayer to me and Emmett has mentioned staying novice hurdles. That doesn't mean much though as Emmett could send him anywhere. See if he gets an entry and runs this weekend and how he gets on.

He'll be novice chasing by Punchestown

Really?…….doing a FTF and completely missing a novice hurdle season?

It was meant as a joke as Emmet is a little crazy with his campaigning. He did it with Feronily where he ran in novice hurdles and chases in the same season. I've added an emoji to avoid any confusion that I may be in the know.

Think they've tried him over the banks at Punchestown...

To win today and any race is 25/1 if that appeals....

                        I've taken it

                        • Any thoughts on Sermondzarak?

Fits the profile of a handicap plot for Gordie - perhaps his Martin Pipe horse.

I have had a little nibble as well. With these any race bets then I like to have all options open and with this being his third start after two in France then there is a good chance he could prove well handicapped, especially considering the low RPRs in France. A win wouldn't do him any harm in getting a rating required for a Festival handicap whilst he is then only two runs away from having the minimum number of starts. If he smashes the opposition looking an exciting prospect then we have the novice hurdles to consider.

With 5 starts required for the handicap hurdles then I think you are going to need to have run at least twice before the new year, ideally three times. Not sure it is ideal to be running 4 times or more in 2 and a bit months before the Festival. Even three runs is reliant on the weather playing ball to get those required runs in.

Agreed, I don't think he'll have time to get the runs in, especially as he had a tough race at the weekend. I'd say he was ridden to win the race too but was beaten by a better horse on the day. No reason that the form could not be reversed on another day though under different conditions.
