Any quotes on where they might go next?

…not seen any quotes, 16-1 MNH in Hills specials.

    • Didn't realize That's Nice was out today - must check my tracker more but also quite liked the Skelton horse last year. Not watched the race but can see she's generally 12s now. JP got a lot of decent mare prospects so will be interesting if he goes in mob handed or tries to split them with the grade 1 at Fairyhouse over 2m4 maybe suiting some more than others.

Not seen owt, but she's nicely bred, her mum was third in mares novice to Limini, out of robin des champs, and obviously her dads walk in the park.
Think she looked to win that really easily and the skelton horse is probably quite well thought of.

Missed the entry too as it was the main one outwith the WPM French recruits I was wanting to keep an eye on! As Jackie always says though, the PtP mares always seem to come up short in the mares novice. Obviously each horse has to be taken on their own merits, she did it very easily today. Looks like one that may need a trip, well until we see what’s under the bonnet if pushed over a shorter trip.

She's looks like a big girl. I personally avoid P2P recruits for the mares novices hurdle at Cheltenham. Also, Willie looks to have gone all out this year to wrestle back his benefit race too.

Yeah, not backed her, whilst the point to point stat would not bother me these days, I did like the power she seemed to have in reserve, due to her size. The jockey knew he had the second from half a mile out.
Wait and see how she fares next up I reckon.

Personally, I'd say the P2P stat is getting more relevant, not less. Long term, That's Nice could be better than what wins the Mares Novice Hurdle, I just think most of the P2P mares are not sharp enough over the race conditions. Or in some cases, their P2P performance and price tag simply don't play out under rules. We've seen some ridiculously high-priced P2P mares that have been abysmal under rules.

Just not a stat in general that would stop me and recently some of the better mares have come after bumper runs, so the thoughts I used to have about French breds etc are long gone.
                  a ptp or bumper
all fucking same to me, jogging round a field

                  • I'd say dropping back to 2m could inconvenience her. She got up on the line in her point and looked to travel better the further she went today. Soft ground and Cheltenham New Course may help though.

My simplistic approach would include bumper mares, it’s just the pointers I don’t like for the race. The one benefit of That’s Nice being a JP homebred is that she was never going through the sales ring. That could mean she had a gentler education versus those mares who are commodities for the point handlers, to sell for crazy money.

                      • A couple of firms left her at 33s for a few minutes after she won so I grabbed some of that.

Hendo could easily put her in against the boys at some point.

Henderson added: "You'd think the trip is about right, two and a half [miles] is probably the area we'll be playing in. There's a long way to go, but I think there's some nice days ahead of us."

Back her for the mares chase 2026 if you want her in the book

The form of this race has another chance to be 'franked' today with the 3rd place that day first confession running in the opener at ascot, up against milan tino.
