I am more worried that he is out in the first week of October but let's see what he does and where he goes with his other ones. Kish Bank next on the list.
Don't forget the Supreme 2nd was out in July !

    • Yes he was wasn't he. I was thinking more about being out early to attain the acquired handicap quota though in this instance

On that point. I wonder if Hercule De Seuil will be given a proper winter prep this time round. Not a massive fan of the form but that sequence of 1's was impressive. Still got improvement in him. Just thought i would throw another Mullins/McManus sized grenade in there

      • Kish Bank has an early entry for Sunday at Cork 2.35 in a maiden hurdle over 2m 4f. Gordon's only entry so expect him to take that up.

Not exclusively true because I'm flexible enough to make exceptions, but generally yes I back once they hit thresholds. That way I'm not tempted to get into graveyard betting with The Albert Bartlett until the novice form is properly playing out, and I'm using a method for the other two races that just works. FOMO creates bulging books and then makes it difficult to make a profit.

Looks like Gordy is going to get enough runs into all of the stayers

Hopefully it doesn't backfire on him as clearly he'll be trying something new by getting them out so quickly.

                • Please talk to me about Maughreen .

How on earth can she be as short as she is ??

Is anyone out there taking that price?

Not in a month of Sundays. 1 run against mere opposition. She is holding the market up nicely though. Karoline Banbou, Riskabahia, Kientzheim, Venusienne, Kom Tu Vodras all arrive on the shores with probably the same goal, or at least most of them will. Then we have Let It Rain, Gale Mahler, Diva Luna, Echoing Silence and Aurora Vega already here ready to throw their hats into the ring. Plenty of horses there to scrutinise the fav with.

                      • Won’t be touching that price, at this early stage, Let it Rain will do for me. Held I high regard with Skelton and that will do for me.

She's an advert for how risk adverse the bookies have become.

Should be 10/1 + and then some. 5/1 is super short and I wouldn't take it, but, with that pedigree and in those hands the bookies are running scared. I can see why. Willie has won 5/9 runnings of the race and normally has the short priced favourite, so it stands to reason given the ease of her debut win and the backstory that she's short. I mean, they're probably not naming a horse Maughreen without thinking she's very smart (for all that doesn't really matter)

5/1 is a roll up price IMO because you just know she'll win on debut vs nothing get cut to 2/1 or something stupid. If she were 12/1 for example I'd probably throw a point at it so I'll find an 11/10 football shot, double it up, boost it and get her in the book so its job done. I spend far too much time trying to roll up shorties as the season progresses so makes sense to do it now as I don't think we are going to learn much before a proper run in Dec/Jan.

She's high on my list for the season. Strongly backed on debut, won really nicely then a good win the Ascot pre x-mas bumper.
