  • I've only just seen the replay. It looked very odd. He was out in front, was very big at one, and then immediately pulled up without anything massively apparent being wrong. Hopefully we'll get an update shortly.

    • Port joulain suffered an overreach according to irishracing, so doesn't sound as bad as first feared.

Fair play to Paul. He was bloody quick to pull him up!

        • Regarding Port Joulain, I hope he's okay. Does anyone know what is the best case and worst case in terms of return time for an overreach at all?

Johnny Dineen was going to put one up on the show today but couldnt find it he was ok so leaving it a week and putting him up next week if he finds out all is good

said horse runs on the first day and is single figs (between 6 and 9/1)

I'd presume hes talking about Mundi with the connection to Joe

Is worth noting he did say he made a few calls and didnt find out if all was ok. Hopefully we see him as his selection next week, as that would give the thumbs up

He's pals with Joe. A little concerning he hasn't got concrete news on his well being though.

                  • Are we jumping to the wrong assumption here Gents? Throughout the show there was one horse he was lavishing praise upon and it was not Mundi. Am I way off the mark in thinking he was talking about Sir Gino running in the Arkle. By this time next week we should know about the well being of Constitutional Hill. Just a thought.

                    • He’s about 8/1 and Johnny wants to know that he’s in the land of the living. And runs on day 1. It won’t be the handicaps. It won’t be the mares - he won’t take on BDA. so it’s the Supreme, Arkle, or Churdle.

                      At around 8/1, that’d be:

                      Supreme

                      Salvator Mundi

                      Arkle

                      Leau Du Sud
                      Sir Gino
                      Inthepocket

                      Champion Hurdle

                      Sir Gino

We’ve seen all of them bar Salvator Mundi. It’s likely him in my opinion. I suppose it could be ITP. Johnny did like him last year.

He's 10/1 with 365 though unless he just didn't realise his best priced with them.

                          • Inthepocket would be my guess as he missed last season. Probably just waiting for an entry.

We are all obviously very bored though

                            • Something piqued my interest in IrishRacing just now (https://www.irishracing.com/news/Gro...ven-bid/252697)

“You’d have expected something from Ireland, maybe Gordon (Elliott) or Willie (Mullins) might have sent something, but I think they are all going for the Challow Hurdle in a couple of weeks which is maybe why it has cut up."

Anyone heard anything? What an unbelievable race that could be if one or two from Ireland joined the fray... it's good enough as it is!

                              • Really keen to see Skyjack Hijack at HQ on Saturday, story of the season for him to be where he is right now.
He won't have the ideal profile for a Bartlett horse having raced nine times since June but he has progressed each time and the nature of his recent wins suggests he'll have the numbers required by Saxon Warrior trends/stats.
One doubt is he's had easy leads, we might need something to take him on to see what his plan B is but I'm temped to take the 50s available before the weekend, if he bombs I'd be tempted to give him a break bring him back for the Warwick qualifier and let him have a crack at the Pertemps off a sub 140 mark but at 50s a small play for the G1 is worth the dart...
