  • Haven't seen the race but sounds like Willie will have a few better ones than him to come out yet for either race.

    • The Ground is Good to Yielding so a bit lively for JDV. He loves it deep and is a far better horse on that imo. Soft ground over 2m at Cheltenham could suit. Still more twists.

Townend said, “The engine is there, but the jumping needs working on.
“He'll get confidence - a bit more practice is what he needs. As I say the engine is in there.

“It is a lot harder to put an engine in one than teach him to jump.”

He looks a Turners horse with that turn of foot. Plenty of schooling will be going on before hopefully the Lawlors.

Im pleased to have 12s for the Turners.

I’ll be getting out of the Supreme bet if I can.

That's more like it on that performance

                          • Ballyburn got beat by a race fit horse of Gordon's last season on debut, no mistake for JDV, despite jumping concerns.

Plenty to improve on. No panic yet.

Also really liked that battling display from The Yellow Clay, think that at least proved my opinion right about him being a Bartlett type now.

The race he won gets a particularly positive mention in Saxon’s race planner.

                              • Wasn't impressed at all with Jasmin De Vaux

                                Jumped very poorly throughout
                                Looks like a pony
so I'd think it's pretty likely other bigger less forward types from bumpers/elsewhere will improve past him

I'd give him a 3/10 for that performance 4 if i was feeling generous. He didn't lose but he went down in my estimations not up.
