“She picked up well after missing the last a bit. She’s still a bit green. I think she’ll handle festival ground, but she’ll go through the winter stuff. I hope so. She’s a big, scopey mare and hence the name, I suppose.

“We’ve some lovely young horses – we hoped we had coming into the season and felt we had bought well, but you never know. We’re happy where we are at the moment and we’ll try to maintain it."

That was a staying performance today in the style of a horse that would go to the AB. She’d be off her feet in the MNH.

              My only thoughts are

The tour was written up on Monday

And it was only this afternoon the drift occurred, plus was he not meant to be going for the royal bond?

now it is 'I'm not 100 per cent sure where he'll start back yet. We'll see what his work is like over the next few weeks'

Something to keep an eye on for sure.

              • I noticed there was nothing on the lay side for Mundi earlier which looked odd - hadn’t seen the drift as well

He did mention it in an earlier tour, but he doesnt really send his better ones to the royal bond usually, also its now a grade 2

usually his supreme horses tend to go lep x 2 then on to cheltenham?

hopefully he comes out around christmas

David Jennings was getting live updates from WPM at Punchestown today Jim, I think if he had suffered a setback i reckon we would have been updated on that.

You’re in danger of getting the title of FJ’s in house hysteria hype man at the moment, I know you wanted not to hear the bad news as much as most of us btw I’m only winding you up

Ahh thats good to hear then, hopefully all is good with him, he's one of my big hopes

I prefer the term 'top investigator', if that can be put in there alongside my name somehow

                        100%

That was a striking performance today, she quickened up nicely after AB drew upsides and bolted through the line in a race that was run at a right gallop, the Fairyhouse Grade 1 looks an ideal future target.

It’s a little different for Salvator in that he’s won his maiden already. So he needs to run in graded company really. So it’s either the Royal Bond or leave it until Christmas. Christmas is a Grade 1 and normally a deeper race.

But the trip on Friday was 2m 1/2 f and of course all or much of the talk was going 2m on Old course at Cheltenham in Champion Hurdle. So I’m thinking that 2m4f is going to suit her much better. I can see her being run off her feet in the Champion Hurdle but not the Mares.

Agreed, although Darragh o keeffe did say she doesnt lack for a turn of foot which does open plenty of options for her.
