  • William Munny very good there.

Looked much better coming off a pace. Could be an E/W chance that's for sure.

    • Agreed.
Last time out he went from front, much happier today and could run into the money in the Festival opener.

Yeah, set it up for a closer, LTO, IMO. Was good to see him restrained today and putting in a better performance.

        • Supporters of Workahead and Kawaboomga would be pleased with that from William Munny.
Very impressive to watch, and he may well figure himself in the Supreme given the right conditions .

          • Interesting enough race the Supreme I reckon. You can use William Munny as a boost for Workahead and Kopek if you really want to. In fact you can make Workahead look a huge price if you wanted to

Think William Munny is learning though isn't he. I'd quit like him to be a good one. Even though I'd already cashed out my Supreme bet on him at a loss...

I very much think this is the case. That first run you could argue his level of fitness, and the second run very much set it up for Kawaboomga, IMO, as much as I am a fan of both of them other horses and have them backed.

              Lot more professional today.

              • However one looks at it, that was certainly not a negative for any horse that’s got form with WM.

                • Both Supreme (in particular) and Turners look really good renewals

                  • Enjoyed the performance of William Munny there. Right now, Romeo Coolio would be one of the worst priced horses of the festival for me. I'd much rather Munny and Workahead to Romeo from a hurdles form perspective

                    • Given Tullyhill won the same race today and went off fav in the Supreme

The 25/1 ante post price for William Munny has some juice in it still?

20/1 NRNB is fair enough too

Hard to get away from the form line ..... will certainly be popular in the next couple of weeks

I'm just glad William Munny is a player again.... I think he was my first bet for this festival and looked a busted flush at one point

                      • An emotional Connell said: “The first thing I want to say is that we’re all thinking about Michael and his family today. This is the first winner in those colours since.

"This horse has been doing everything wrong in his hurdle races. He’s been way too keen, making mistakes and he’s still running to figures to suggest that he’s there or thereabouts winning a Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.

“Today he settled away better and jumped better. He has so much natural ability this horse that he can’t understand why the riders want to take him back. He’s hardly having a blow there today, that was his last piece of work before the Supreme.

“He’s put himself right in the picture there.

“We (also) have Marine Nationale for the Champion Chase and Nine Graces for the Kim Muir. Marine Nationale came out of his last run at Leopardstown excellent. He’s improving 10lb every time he runs because he’s effectively a novice.

“I think he will step forward. He loves the spring and he’s a course and distance winner on the Old course and his temperament is bombproof. When he won the Supreme Novice it rained a lot the night before and the ground was tacky but better ground would be a help.

“I wouldn’t swap him for anything in the race, I think he’s definitely the best Irish horse going over there, whether he beats Jonbon or not is another matter but he’s in great nick."

Absolutely. I can't have a Kayf Tara that couldn't win the Royal Bond as any kind of value at 6/1.

Still reckon Munny will go off single figures on the day so agree 20/1 NRMB seems very fair !

Il take the grade 1 winner with track form you can have the maiden hurdle winner and the horse 1 from 3 over hurdles

Munny does look like a good place chance if he's ridden cold and picks up the pieces

Romeo coolio will be ridden forward i imagine so will either run a stormer or get caught in a pace battle and be paddling coming up the hill

I personally thought the G1 he won was worse in quality than some maiden hurdles ran this season - a grade 1 in name rather than nature. A number of non jiggers in behind him that day
