  • I liked The Yellow Clay for the Turners last year and I think I'd still side with that race myself. I'm not convinced he's a slogger at all and he could have run 4m against that opposition today. Whilst I like the previous roll call as a guide, I'm not a slave to it so I'd not let that convince me he's an AB horse myself. Gordon had to split the horse from Romeo Coolio but at the same time, Gordon and Bective always support this meeting. So I think the Yellow Clay ran over today's trip as a result of that, rather than an indication of his future.

    • Plenty of days left before Gordon will have a target for him. Need to see how his other novices come out but he could run in any of the 3. I'd have the AB as the least likely tbh. A faster prace Supreme could potentially suit but I don't think he'll be proper grade 1 class over 2 miles or 2 and a half.

      • ….Yellow Clay 33-1 AB with Hills enhanced special, seems they don’t think that’s the target.

        • ….Romeo a best 14-1 for both Sup/Gall after that win.

Note; 16-1 both races in Hills enhanced odds specials.

          • Beat nothing obviously

But the way he went about it, his hurdling technique, very very impressed

Half reminded me of Envoi Allen when he won this race

Gordon saying Royal Bond likely next, where he will meet Salvator Mundi

            And 2m the plan

            • Aye, shaped nicely over his hurdles and looks uncomplicated. Plenty to like. Could be a good Royal Bond.

              • Decent but the ones behind have been hammered previously. Salvator Mundi will put him in his place if they meet in the Royal Bond.

Hope so and then revert back to plan A and go 2m 5f in March…

                  • Funny how he’s bigger now, after a very competent hurdling debut, than after the Champion Bumper. 14/1 looks a fine price in my book. Strong indication that he’ll head to the Supreme, slick jumper, and an engine.

                    • Thought that was a nice debut for RC
If I had to be critical in any way I would say maybe jumped some quite big?
But overall happy with that as a backer.

                      • Very good from Romeo Coolio.

Can't see him stepping up to 2m. Gordon seemed adament he's a 2 miler for now.

I know Willie mentioned Royal Bond for Salvator but I'll believe it when I see it. Think he'll end up in the G1 over Christmas instead.

Think he'll send something like Belloccio to the Royal Bond, personally.

Agree with this. If Salv is Willie's number one then I'd be surprised if he'll be running in the Royal Bond, let alone taking on Romeo so early in the season.

                          • ….i’m a bit surprised Salvador Mundi is still 50-1 for Turners Nov Hrd, given he’s as low as 8-1 fav for Supreme. Not sure I recall such a disparity before a run.

Probably says a lot for where he's going to end up Eggs. Surely Willies Stable staff would have snapped up the 50's if he had any chance of going Gallagher's? Just my thoughts of course.

Very nice. Was more than happy with his jumping . Couldn't have asked for anything more on debut. He's a player.
