  • Anyone think Familiar Dreams beats Maughreen tomorrow?

Beat Sixandahalf in a bumper (and lost to her in an actual flat race over 1m4f when fav)

Also beat Winter Fog (not over hurdles, thanls Benjy23) who has was 2nd in the Grade 1 at Christmas behind Brighterdaysahead (ahead of State Man) ... so he's not useless albeit that's a hilarious piece of form to pick out and pretend he's not run anywhere else

25/1 with cashout for the MNH
    14/1 NRNB

Last running in USA, owned by very famous flat colours .... it's lured me in for a deeper dive anyway

    • That Winter Fog race wasn't over hurdles. It was some women's flat race crap... But I've still played the double of Familiar Dreams tomorrow and Sixandahalf for the Mares Novice. Because I love a related double

Slight concern Familiar Dreams can't jump as it's taken them so long to go hurdling but that's just a complete guess. 9 bumpers FFS

Just to note Sixandahalf was not long broken in when she finished 2nd to Familiar Dreams. She was very much thrown into the unknown to see what they had.

Agree re: 25/1 being value about her tomorrow. I nhad a saver on her today for a bit of cover on 6.5 who I’m heavily invested in.

        • I am starting to love Sixandahalf

The related double tomorrow is tempting isn't it

I don't have anything against Maughreen apart from the price .... she went on my 'horses to roll up' so early on and I've just not bothered

6/1 to win tomorrow and the festival is horrible .... but as it's a syndicate they could lose tomorrow and still run just for the day out

Think Willie was banging on about Charlus running at Cheltenham today and essentially just admitting it's so the syndicate can have a good time

Where is covid when you need it to weed out these social runners

          • Familiar Dreams has the experience benefit with all her runs on the flat. That can’t be underestimated in a race like this. That edge 6.5 will have from runs like the Cesarwitch & Galway premier handicaps will be a big advantage on the day.

Plenty of good mares have been beaten in this race because things didn’t go their way on the day. 6.5 is very versatile.

            • My problem whilst thinking 'out loud' right now, is that if Maughreen does win tomorrow I'm just absolutely stuck without her and I don't like spending the amount of time I do on a festival race and not have the SP fav at bigger odds than they are

She'll have beaten what I consider a very good horse and be too short if I don't take 6/1 TWAF now

              but that's HORRIBLE

I'm going to have to let her go

I hope she goes well for Run4Home & connections but she’s been a rancid price since first quotes, don’t think her name helped matters considering Willies mothers passing last year but apparently that has nothing to do with the mares name. Just a coincidence.

Thats said it’s a very lightweight division so she doesn’t need to be overly impressive tomorrow to solidify her market position.

                • I forgot she was with you Run4Home - I'd have been a lot more polite about her price if I'd remembered that

Would the plan be to still go if she was beaten tomorrow?

                  • Kopek Des Bordes / Kawaboomga form tested a little tomorrow in the first at Punchestown with Zillow 2nd fav to another Mullins horse, Karbau

Patrick reckons it's a big task for Maughreen taking FD on. I reckon he's taking the piss and that his grand mother will sluice up and go 6/4 fav .

You won't. You'll back her guaranteed.

                        • One run in a flat race a year ago.
Think I will leave her alone at the price she is.
Good luck today to R4H though.
