The 14/1 looks big but I'm reluctant to take it yet as I think Kopek will win next weekend. He'll surely drift if he's beat, initially at least.

The related double does interest me though

I'm warming to him more and more Kaid D'authie

Kopek won't have any room for error in the jumping dept this time round with KD jumping well lto bar 1 mistake IIRC.

Agreed. It should be an informative race.

A win for Kopek probably guarantees him going to the Turners, but I'm not sure where that'd leave Kaid D.

Is Kaid D'Authie (Supreme) and Kopek Des Bordes (Turners) a double that anyone has done? It's 164/1 with B365.
The best result for me is for Kaid and KDB to finish in a photo with Kaid going Supreme and KDB going to the Turners.

I don't have many live multiples this year but the ones I have that could be interesting are as follows:

          Group #1
          Supreme: Kaid / Mundi
          Turners: KDB
          AB: Final Demand

          Group #2
          Supreme: Kaid / Mundi
          Turners: KDB
          Triumph: Hello Neighbour

This is what I hope, and think, will happen.

Kaid will lead, travel and jump well and will see out the race. KDB to get a toe and hopefully be involved in the finish if his jumping holds up.

              2m6f DRF prediction
If TYC doesn't show then I think Final Demand should be able to get the better of these. The owner would rather the Turners but I'm sure he'll want PT on board if KDB were to be the Turners horse.

Used a free bet on this over the weekend, but only 116/1.

I'm very much of the same opinion, as you are, that Kopek will do Kaid at the DRF.

I'm really not as strong on Kaid as some seem to be on here, despite having a 50/1 ticket on him, however I'm not naive or stubborn enough to know that I could be wrong, and Kaid could turn out to be the Supreme number 1, so I've taken action, mostly in the form of free bets though.

I know it's a really poor reason, but I struggle to see Willie leave Paul without a serious ride in the Supreme for a second year in a row (some will argue Tullyhill was a good option, the results since suggest otherwise), like last season, where Mystical Power was Willie's number one and Mark Walsh rode.

I think the fact Salvator Mundi only has a Supreme entry speaks volumes. We don't usually get that from Willie.

                • I'm a huge fan of both Kaid and Kopek

However, Kopek ran 3 minutes 52 second on his first ever run over hurdlers and second run of his career (Bumper runners over testing ground). This wasnt a slowly ran race, but still showed he had plenty at the end of the race, he ran powerfully on.
Softer ground at the DRF will suit Kopek, I think Townend will help get him jumping a little better, I dont think horse will ever be a slick jumper and will be one that will win because of his natural ability as a horse, and not as a fine hurdler of a fence.

I'd be interested to see where the pace will come from, and this could be the down fall of Kaid who I feel will want a end to end hard gallop with testing finish. I think Kaid's top speed may be less than Kopek's

I'm fairly confident that both horses are very very good. I'm just as confident that Kopek will win at the DRF, only because the race conditions will be better suited for Kopek.

I see Kopek then going to the Turners and Kaid going to the supreme.

My only concern here is... the horses that have won a novice hurdle at 5 have been proper animals. So although I'm confident, I am worried that my confidence is based on watching these two win 4 year old maidens, it may turn out that they were impressive winners in weak races, and then get caught out in novice company. We'll see.

Just seen Ginger Joe has posted comments from Willie today, said that Kopek jumps well at home, feels there was another reason why he didnt jump as well on his first run and may try headgear - I hope they are talking about the bit or bridle... and not looking to throw a pair of goggles on him! Cant be a hood, he isnt keen. Cheek pieces or blinkers, naa they arent used for jumping better. Visor? Maybe that... but he doesnt throw visors on horses normally. So I can only imagine he's talking about the bridle or bit

Also on Gingers post - willie saying Kaid "he'll go for the 2 milers, thats where he is right now, impressive looking horse...."

                  I like both.

Yep, same odds but with Corals. Also did the Kaid/TNO double as cover.

Salvator Mundi is going to have Paul riding, I think we can be certain of that, and the noises coming out of today's stable tour would make you think he's the stable number 1 for that race.

JackieMoon33 group 1 would be the perfect scenario for my ante posts, so its reassuring that we are all thinking along the same lines. Let's hope WPM is too.

                            Yeah, for sure.

I suspect (and hope) he'll show up a hell of a lot better than Tullyhill did for Paul last season.

It'll be fairly deflating if he only reaches Tullyhills level. Surely he's going to be much better than him
