  • ….giving this a ‘bump’, great to see plenty of discussion in the race threads. Let’s know if you have any Yankee nominations for this months Captain Irish Rugby to consider.

i’m still with Murcia 33-1 (TH), quite popular elsewhere on site.

Hoping Middle_Of_March is back next month to take up the reigns when we should have a few stable tours to guide us.

    • Including novices/Triumph/Bumper horses in September is rarely a good idea but I'm sure the Mark Howard book is out soon, if anyone has any knowledge of what might be included and/or a strong view ahead of this being published it might be possible to get ahead of the market...

Of the PTP horses to follow that I put up, Classical Creek would be my pick at the moment. He's with Gordon and a 4yo so likely to take in a bumper campaign.

The Enabler in the Albert Bartlett is the other I'm keen on that hasn't been mentioned much. Stoutly bred and performed to a decent level in bumpers last season.

I think it likely that Classical Creek (Bumper), Quantum Boy (Bumper), Kopek Des Bordes (Supreme/Gallaghers), Salvator Mundi (Supreme), Kel Histoire (Supreme), Kilgame (Supreme/Gallaghers), and Son of Anarchy (Albert Bartlett) may shorten shortly so may be worth considering them at this point. With Murcia already nominated, a young-horse theme might emerge.

The bumper horses are hardly priced up anywhere and son of anarchy is only priced with b365.

            • Be interesting to see how much improvement there may be in Salvator Mundi. With three runs under his belt already then the experience he has gained sets him up nicely for a Cheltenham handicap if he was to be held back. Wouldn't be surprised if he is chucked in at the deep-end knowing he is positioned nicely if he was to 'sink'. He would be a prime candidate for an 'any race' bet with all the hurdle options open to him.

That sounds like a good list, might be worth throwing four of those in a speculative lucky 15....

I could be wrong but I think they've only ever mentioned Supreme for him and the way he was campaigned last year suggests it was all about 2024/25, I'd expect him to be a leading light in the division and I am actually a little surprised 20/1 is available given the filthy prices bookies chuck out these days....

I'd personally take The Enabler of Son Of Anarchy for the same connections. Not just on my perceived ability of each but due to the fact that The Enabler has gained that additional experience of a bumper campaign. Son Of Anarchy will be a proper boat though so ideal for staying trips at some point, even though I'm not a fan of his father.

                    • Hi everyone. Just a final reminder to post anything her over the weekend if you want me to consider your views.

I will post the September Yankee at noon on Monday.

                      • In the end I came down to Kopek Des Bordes in the Gallaghers, Corbetts Cross for the Ryanair, Langer Dan to continue his superb Cheltenham record, this time in the Stayer’s Hurdle, and getting that value hopefully now locked in the Triumph with Murcia. Some of these will get trimmed if they get positive nods in the Stable Tours.

Kopek Des Bordes, Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle @ 25/1
Corbetts Cross, Ryanair Chase @ 25/1
Langer Dan, Stayers’ Hurdle @ 25/1
                        Murcia, Triumph Hurdle @ 33/1

                        Acca 597,583/1 with B365

We had Kopek Des Bordes back in June for the Supreme, although the option was to put him in the Gallaghers if we wanted to, but here he’s in the Gallagher as a first pick.

A lot of the thread discussion was around the Ryanair and it was a close final decision to go with Corbetts against L’Homme Presse and Bravemansgame. His younger age just edged it, with the potential that there is a lot more to come.

Langer Dan was my own pick. Highlighted also by Spectre in his Day 3 video last week. I just worry those bookmakers will not reduce his odds over the winter if the Stayers is the target and it is a race, beyond the favourite, lacking in much depth.

I thought it wise to get Murcia in the book at 33s. Surely it will be a stable tours favourite given the owner/trainer combination.

Good luck everyone, and thanks for the opportunity to do this.
