….very pleased to say Atlantic Viking has volunteered to be Captain this month.
Keep the suggestions coming.

….for obvious reasons we haven’t got Ballyburn in any of these yet. I’m in Turners camp (7/2) but a few others, including Spectre make convincing cases for the Arkle (5-1).
A strong possibility he’s a winner wherever he goes, is he too risky to include or maybe Atlantic Viking might take the plunge?

If he’s considered their best and could probably win any of the nov chases, then why not go for the best race?
No reason that I can see.
Even if he’s considered a Gold Cup prospect he can still take in the arkle en route.

For what it's worth, I'm on for the BANC....

I like Dinoblue at 7/1 for the mares chase.
She's shown she's good over 2 miles, but not good enough against the boys in the championship races.
The late rain did her no favours this year, but she still stayed out the trip and was beaten 3/4 length by a proper stayer giving her 5lbs and was actually gaining coming up the hill.
Limerick won't have the swing in the weights this time around, and on her best form Dino is still the Mare to beat over Fences.
Elimay came back a 2nd time and got redemption for JP & WIllie and i think Dinoblue will do the same.

Never easy to get excited about 7/1 shots in July but her Irish mark would mean she can't go near a handicap, so the only options that exist for this one are:
1. Swerve Cheltenham
2. Take on the big guns in G1 and hope the allowance gets her close
3. Mares Chase
Realistically 1 isn't happening being a JP horse and 2 would seem ambitious.
Mares Chase is probably the answer and unless one of the big named hurdlers re-route to fences Dinoblue would have a serious chance...

Ballyburn and mystical power for the champion hurdle for me. I know it may be controversial and go against the FJ opinion, but why change now?
i wouldn’t back either for a novice chase antepost. Both, however, especially the former I believe to be proper champion hurdle types. Willie needs something to try and beat CH with, and that’s not state man.
