Nusret pulled from the County and Martin Pipe so we can ignore him. A lot pulled from the Martin Pipe.

Right not long now until final selections.

Final entries are in, only declarations remain.

After go dante winning today, leau du sud becomes impossible to leave out. And has been popular amongst members.

The idea of an all British yankee wasn't opposed. In fact the opposite, a couple of members supported the idea.

Gidleigh park is my favourite novice this season, he's a winner for me in whichever race he runs, there has been several members encourage his inclusion, so he has to be included, even though there's a risk he runs Wednesday.

Premier magic hasn't been opposed strongly enough for me to not pick him.

That leaves the Martin Pipe. 3 British trained picks so far pencilled in. I think we go for the British trained Yankee theme.
And I'm leaning towards no ordinary joe, good Cheltenham record. 2nd in the race last year finishing ahead of buddy one who is now 21lbs higher and behind iroko who went novice chasing and looks like he was at least a stone well in. No ordinary joe runs off 1lb higher. Henderson stable a concern but I'd take the risk, its not the first time he's been under a cloud in the run up to Cheltenham.

Theres about 24 hours to convince me these 4 arent the correct selections for the day 4 yankee. (Good luck with that )

You'd kind of be annoyed if Leau du sud won and you didn;t have doddie in the last. You could include him on the proviso he doesn't get in the coral, and if not name a sub.

But equally the Henderson issues seem to be continuing, so what would be the third UK pipe horse you had in mind ? - does Sonigino come into it as although his mark isn't great his form is linked.

With NOJ, JP also has Waterford Whispers and more often than not, the shorter priced JP horse will be the horse that finishes best for him. WW could go off fav or 2nd fav so that would be something that would put me off NOJ.

For the British horses, outside of NOJ and Doddie none look well handicapped. Sonigino isn't any better than 143, Jay Jay Reilly isn't well handicapped then you get to some others with no chance

I'd say Doddie over NOJ. 5 should come out, step up will bring out improvement, good form over 2 miles, better than 132.

If you want all British, go with Shishkin instead - 7/1 isn't a bad price currently.

Looks like it's going to be a Henderson horse anyway for the last one.

I get the jp angle, but we won't know until the day which will be shorter, if hendo bangs in 3 or 4 winners in the first 3 days and Henry hasn't had 1, who goes off shorter?

I'd prefer answer to kayf to Waterford whispers....

Im not sure about doddie. Coral Cup is his first choice, with the pipe being for conditionals, is the coral cup first choice because hendo doesn't have the right jockey for him, NOJ would potentially have access to better conditionals.

Shishkin? You'd have to ask Quevega

No 3rd uk pipe horse I have in mind.
I was referring to the 3 other horses for the Yankee that are still only in pencil, but look likely to be in the final selection.

              So shishkin?

It's a forum Yankee, I'm being as impartial as possible.
                  too many are against him.
                  pull up???
Surely you're saying that because of the current stable cloud.
i know you didnt believe he could win but pull up.....

He won't pull up, that I can absolutely guarantee you (barring a freak accident)

Yeah the JP angle wasn't the best argument. Outside of NOJ and Doddie, the British challenge isn't there so I'm happy with whichever one you go for.
