At least you have the luxury of knowing the Decs before putting it up
If Ballyburn skips the Supreme, the most obvious races are:
Supreme, Arkle, Ultima and NHC
if Ballyburn goes for the Supreme (and assuming you avoid the Boodles), you could do Arkle, Ultima, NHC and decide which of Ballyburn, State Man or Lossie that you want to take on.
Simple

One idea I mentioned at the start of the thread was having the Yankee related…..in the belief that stables can get on a roll & that’s where the multiple aspect kicks in
Tues now looks more open & couple options spring to mind as ew Yankees
Henry/Rachael….
Slade Steel
Quilixios
Amirite
Tellmesomethinggirl
Gordon (Jack)
Firefox
Found a Fifty
Goffer
Irish Point / Ziggy
and win option for Willie/Paul (prob quite short but u could just do a 4-fold if not the Yankee)
Tully
GW (or Hunters)
State
Lossie
Keen to avoid the Boodles probably
interested in thoughts as this is very much a team gameLast edited by TigerRolllllll; 7 March 2024, 11:07 PM.Fat Jockey Patron (est. Jan 2021)

Would be no surprise if he were to have a good festival
Think that’s more likely to earn most profit.
Like the idea as well, something different.

I think I am a little bit in love with the Jack one
Have fancied Firefox for a long time, we know we get a run for our money with The Goffer and Found a Fifty actually has the best 2m chase form doesn't he?
Jack is superb as well... I do think we have to realistically think, will a jockey do a 4 timer on the day? Paul obviously has the best chance with 2 odds on shots...

We could do a take on Willie one on day one as we are likely to get reasonable prices on all the Elliott/De Bromhead horses..
Supreme - Slade Steel my preference, but Firefox is liked by a number on here so two solid options
Arkle - Found A Fifty would be my preference over Quilixios - FAF has won or come second in three consecutive Grade 1s, two of which have been left handed. It's easily the best/most consistent 2m chase form in the race. I think he'll get beat by Gaelic but if taking Willie on then it makes sense to fully take him on.
Ultima - The Goffer gives a solid Naiad ring to the bet
NH Chase - Ziggy likely to be the ew value
You could also consider Ose Partir or Nara who a few are sweet on in the Boodles, both of those would give a big place boost and could maybe go in place of the Supreme or Arkle which are both extremely competitive for the prices we'd get?

Although it is funny, as we're almost purposefully avoiding winners. We KNOW Willie will have more than 1 winner don't we, are we making it harder than it needs to be?
At current prices I think Slade Steel at 7/1 is a better bet than Firefox in this even though I prefer the latter.
Found A Fifty the case is solid. Jumps right but best 2m chase form of the lot.
The Goffer enough said.
I don't personally like Salvador Ziggy and consider the top 2 clear of him, so he's in a battle for 1 spot, with all the others. I'd suggest one of Willie's just so we definitely had a winner, State Man isn't going to lose is he

State Man and Lossiemouth just win don't they? So if you have the other 3 with those two, can someone do the maths and figure out whether that's a better return or just ignore this if it's not an option. It just feels like the game is changing with these races and particularly for day 2 it could be useful if Ballyburn and El Fabiolo are used as anchors?

This is the Yankee we can spend some time on tomorrow once we know the final fields in the handicaps but my picks as of today.
Supreme - I think we should be taking this on. Should be plenty of value.
Looking at how they're going to line up. Tullyhill and Tellherthename should be at the front. Tullyhill won't be getting a breather and will be under pressure with his jumping. We will need strong stayer but also one that travels well to not let the front 2 get too far ahead. Slade Steel is probably the percentage play at the odds for an each way Yankee - strong stayer, great form over 2m, Rachel is great round Cheltenham. I haven't backed him and he may still not come here though.
Arkle - not sure about this one. Could make cases for a lot of them. Not going to decide on this until we know who declares as a few will go to the Turners. Gaelic though is going to be tough to beat.
Ultima - most of the time the winner is well found in the market. We've probably all backed the Naiad so I'd leave him out. We will know if Apple Away gets in tomorrow. A grade 1 winning novice hurdler running off a lower rating than their hurdle rating (and doesn't jump poorly) from a trainer who knows how to win this has to be tempting. Without her, I'd probably suggest Chianti Classico as a British trained novice chaser who ran at the festival last year.
Fred Winter - no particularly strong feeling at the moment in this. Ose Partir has been popular on here and been coming down in odds and probably not much value now for a maiden. One I like to look at who's going to front run and where they're all likely to be placed before looking at an each way angle. Eagle Fang for the Naas race needs to be respected though and previously raced in a graded race so would be a trends pick.
NHC - Ziggy as he's an each way price, highest rated, good Festival form, will stay and Elliott can lay one out for this off a long time out.
