Few bits from last night that I remember...

Supreme - AP prefers JDR over MP, RW seemed pretty confident on Tullyhill.
Arkle - RW said HY was a weak finisher, not keen. GW is the one
Champion Hurdle - Everyone pretty much in agreement on SM to beat IL. RW really likes the SM/Lossie double.
        Ultima - Ruby likes Trelawne.
Think I went for a Guinness so missed the rest of day 1...

        Gallaghers - Ballyburn
Brown Advisory - F2F, Meg Nicholls said SAF a bit slow
Champion Chase - AP very keen on Jonbon (as he was with every JP horse, can't remember him talking about a horse owned by anyone else). RW confident on EF but also said he's a touch short
X Country - Mainly favouring Coko Beach
Grand Annual - In Excelsis Deo for AP, RW thinks race should suit SR
Bumper - RW would go for Argento Boy or Fleur Au Fusil at the prices, but no idea who is Willies best. MN said very little between Quebecois and Teeshan so would play Q each way

        Turners - mixed
Pertemps - RW not convinced on IA.
Ryanair - AP likes Capodanno (Shock). RW thinks it will happen a bit too quick for him, likes Envoi. MN said SS working really well.
Stayers - RW and David Casey both want Monkfish here, but Willie wants to go for the Gold Cup. RW likes Noble Yeats EW, everyone else on Teahupoo
        Plate - Can't remember anything
Mares Novice - Standard really, Gordon really likes BDA but Mullins yard think a lot of JDG too
Kim Muir - Can't remember anything

Felt like the Mullins team are very confident of a good Friday...

Triumph - Hendo yard form concern but hard to play the race, wait to see how Hendos are running
        County - Nothing
Bartlett - Everyone pretty keen on RTW.
Gold Cup - Everyone keen on GDC. MN said Bravemansgame is working really well again.
        Hunters - Nothing
Mares Chase - Confident Dinoblue will stay but ground would be a bit of a worry.

        • Can this get a bump and change of date at the top, or a new thread added to the stickys please

Now that silly season is here, it's always interesting to hear what's been said up and down the country and across the ditch about what the plot jobs and god given certainties are.

Having read back through most of this thread it pays to take a lot of what is said with a pinch of salt - between the love for Jeriko DW, Tullyhill & Facile Vega working the house down and Ballyburn going for the Supreme plenty of punters put away.

Thought this one from David Casey was wildly prophetic for this season

          Triumph
Everyone pretty much in Sir Gino's lot provided yard looking OK during the week
Salvator Mundi, one for next years Supreme and will run in Triumph (DC). Also a huge fan of Majborough as a chaser and will also run here.

                    • Always a bit disappointed that Chester Racecourse stopped theirs after COVID, was always good food and I once outed myself as a fat jockey when trying to clarify what The Storytellers rating would be with the panel and was spotted by a fellow Jockey afterwards!

I can't remember who the poster was, if i saw their username I'd remember but I don't think they are active anymore.

The Storytellar hurdles handicap was such a fun time to think we had found an absolute banker only to be told about the actual rules!

                                sad, really
