  • 2024 preview evenings

I've had a quick scan through the thread and can't see anything for this year's preview evenings so thought I'd start one off with a shameless plug.

My cricket club is hosting a preview evening in Alcester on Wednesday 6th March. The panel is Dan and Harry Skelton, Paul Nicholls and Olly Murphy (always good to have someone who won't be biased towards any runners with a chance). All profits to go towards the running costs of the club for the next season.

If you are interested, I've put the link below

You won’t want to be anywhere else on Wednesday 28 February, as we bring you the 2024 At The Races Cheltenham Preview Night, brought to you in association with Betfred, live from 7pm that evening.

Join host Sean Boyce and star panellists Matt Chapman, Jamie Codd and Kevin Blake for strong opinions, laughs and hopefully some big winners as the Cheltenham Festival moves ever closer. You’ll also get the chance to win a number of prizes throughout the night, including free bets courtesy of Betfred!

The At The Races Cheltenham Preview Night will be streamed live right here, as well as on the At The Races YouTube channel and Facebook pages. It will not be shown on Sky Sports Racing.

Chapman always makes this unwatchable. He has the unnerving knack of getting the tone and pace wrong every time

Myself, Daryl Carter, Dave Young (Cheltmental), and Jaime Wrenn are doing a Festival Handicaps Preview Evening at Towcester Racecourse on the 3rd March. Ben Hastie ex-Cheltenham Head Groundsman is also joining us at the start to talk about the course, the ground, and to give an insight as to why the Cheltenham does and doesn't suit certain types of horses. It's a 'Behind Closed Doors' Free event kicking off at 6.30PM.

We expect a few Internet Racing 'Faces' To be joining us for the afternoon and evening as a bit of a mixer too.

Also if you want to go earlier there's an afternoon of Greyhound Racing which is also free entry. Please let me know directly if you want to attend as places are limited.

Can’t be doing with that Jane Mangan! Always has a angry cocky attitude to the whole Irish v British when it comes to this week I’ve found, personally couldn’t be arsed listening to it live at a preview night!

Disagree. She's better than most and gives her fair share of GB selections. I'm not one for preview nights but that's a strong line up in Greystones.

One for people around the Dublin catchment area. I go to this each year, very laid back affair that isn't recorded, Gordon usually has no filter and a few jars on board. Always get a few nuggets of info from the two leading yards this side of the water. Reasonable value also.

This it the Towcester one that I'm doing with Daryl Carter, Cheltmental (Dave Young), and Jaime Wrenn. Even if you can't make it the trailer is well worth a watch!!!

Maybe you should try adding it to the RP list.

I can't remember who it was exactly but I remember someone writing up a very informative review of a Preview Evening last year - I wonder if said person / others will be doing that again this year?

I put a tweet out earlier today re: preview nights and have a few contacts attending events across England and Ireland so I'll be sharing any useful information that is sent over.
