I think the presence of Coko Beach will be insightful. I’m not sure how many times there has been a 160 rated chaser in the race attempting to make it a real stamina test as the majority of similarly rated chases will have had a distinct class advantage and would have been happy to let this advantage come through organically as folks have said.

This time we have a 160 chaser that will not want to be relying on his class but will presumably want it to be a real test of endurance. If he is successful then perhaps the race can take on a new dimension tactically , if he isn’t then it’s hard to see that the die hasn’t been cast. If DW, MI and Galvin fight out the finish and the conditions of the race don’t change it’s not difficult to imagine this race having single digit runners in the not too distant future.

Is it a course where you can set a frenetic gallop though you’re jumping or turning constantly.

Has a highly rated chaser ever had an incentive to do so? Maybe this year we will find out one way or the other. Take out CB and we will have three vastly superior horses going at it over the last few furlongs. With CB in the race I’d be amazed if the plan wasn’t to disrupt this as much as possible. Many have talked about the interest Minella Indo’s participation has added. For me the participation of Coko Beach is more fascinating.

Horsemanship is often a factor in this race. You'd imagine that Jack Kennedy will ride Coko Beach (unless Conflated is redirected here) and he seems to ride the course well.

Jack surely rides DW as has won this race on him before

wouldn’t be surprised to see this as battle between him & Rachael….and she prob needs to get first run & stretch finish out of DW

He hasn't ridden DW for a while now and was very sweet on Coko Beach after the last run over banks. CK is also officially rated 7lb superior.

Saw an Irish field piece where Gordon said Galvin won’t go if the word good isn’t in the going bit more definitive

Didn't Gordon say Galvin was his best chance in GN ? Think he's just minding him for that.

If the cross country track did not pass the inspection tomorrow morning would it be likely to be rescheduled for later in the week?

Theyve just put a tweet out saying they're working on a contingency for it to be run on Friday if its fails tomorrow.
