Only got 3lb to 133 for his run behind Ga Law on trials day, which is very solid looking form in front of Il Ridoto and co.

Would have got in the race the last 3 years so has every chance.

It's not really a race for repeat winners (understatement) but I don't think Maskada is a bad bet in the Grand Annual. Nice related double with Dinoblue in the Mares Chase to load up some more

33/1 perfectly fair and would be exciting rolling onto Dinoblue ... you'd be very confident.

No easy task her winning off something like 7lb more, but take out Dinoblue she'd have still won last year.

Probably needs soft again though?

Just spent hours looking at the pertemps and you’ll all be glad to know I’ve stumbled upon the winner. Young Butler aka cert! Just needs to get into the race lol. Check him out, won his last 2 races over 3 miles going away at the finish. Looks like he’ll enjoy the stiffer test of stamina at Cheltenham. Last run was his first run for Harry Durham and a career best running fresh. Outstaying Emitom after being headed over the last is no mean feat. I assume/hope he’s been put away and kept fresh for this since. Mark of 127 is a free one. Bits of blue around already but 33s NRNB with Betfair and paddy’s is some price. I was able to boost him to 35/1 with paddy’s. Happy Christmas lads!

I'm not sure on ground. Obviously be happy with soft based on last year and that's her standout effort.

But I wouldn't completely write her off on better ground. Before she went to Henry her best runs were on good to soft. He's obviously improved her a lot since but her one subsequent run on yielding ground was over a trip too far so didn't really prove much ground wise. I was hoping they'd be a bit of improvement for not being in heavy ground to be honest.

I think i would have a preference for soft for her , masked marvel ( montjeu, soft) and dam is out of saint des saints (soft) theres not much recommending goodish ground. Thats just my opinion though, im a hack amatuer on breeding..

Interesting article with comments from the UK handicapper on how he came to some of the ratings, and how the Tony Martin running of Jonny at the weekend was a desperate act.
The fact he didn't go for the pertemps qualifier is a big tell.
