BATMAN GIRAC gets an English mark of 133.

In 4 of the last 5 years that has carried 11st 2lbs or 11st 3lbs in the Boodles - the exception being 11st 5lbs in 22022.

    The last 5 Boodles winners ran off (latest first) 125, 137, 125, 138, 139.

ABSOLUTE NOTIONS has avoided any tax and stays at 143. Imagine that's what they were hoping for.

Is it too good for the plan? Would they now consider the Pipe I wonder? Or is Jack too important?

      I thought he’d get at least 5lbs. He’s a live one.

I've seen a few put up flight deck for the pertemps, cautionary word, trainer is thinking of going down the graded route with him this year and a potential cleeve hurdle entry.

Update on CHIANTI CLASSICO from Kim Bailey:

"I haven’t discussed plans with the owners yet.

"He's already got a National Hunt Chase entry, and he will get an Ultima entry, but I might look at the Coral Trophy Handicap Chase (Kempton, Feb 24th).

“I’m not terribly sure that he enjoyed Cheltenham on his only run there last season, but he had a wind-op as a result because he nearly collapsed afterward.

"I still hold that reservation, but I don't know if that is correct and he is a year older.

"If he was to go to Cheltenham, he wouldn’t be running between now and March, but if he was to go to Kempton, that would be a different ball game.“

              Thanks for this Cashew King

I'm not surprised he nearly collapsed last season, he had solely been campaigned at the intermediate trip then chucked into a G1 over 3m on soft and one of the toughest courses around. Obviously having the wind op has helped as he's now raced 3 times over 3m this season and no breathing issues have come to light.

I'm unsure why they would give him a NH Chase entry though, especially after concerns last season, and the race looks fairly hot to me.

Kempton or the Ultima it is, IMO.

I know there's been alot of talk of chianti classics being kim baileys ultima horse, but for me I'm more interested in another of his horses for that race in 'trelawne' ran some decent races the last couple times behind some useful horses over 2m4, Mark of 145, he won well over 2m7 last season in a valuable hcap hurdle at Uttoxeter so step up in trip should suit , I like it that he's been round cheltenham this season bit like Kim did with happy-go-lucky a few seasons ago before running in the ultima, one negative is the way he lugged right handed lto at whetherby but he didn't do that at chelt in Dec so hopefully would be ok back there maybe the application of some headgear would help.

On my shortlist too but i'd have him in the kim muir.

Ah ye hadn't thought of the kim muir, I havnt had a bet on atm will wait and see if chianti classics goes to kempton first I think, any idea if bailey has had many kim muir runners before or what jockey he'd use in that race Birds Nest?

Trelawne was as bad as Goshen turning left at the weekend. Would put me off a bit.
Theres a horse of Paul Nicholls, Golden Sun. Been pulled up last 2 races but he absolutely hated the ground. That wouldnt have been the horses true running, and he has been dropped a fair bit for the 2 runs. He could be well handicapped on better ground. The plate would be the obvious

Original thought was chianti ultima trelawne kim muir, but reading baileys comments about chianti maybe your more on the mark now.

I’m a fan of Areuwisetothat for Jonjo for the Ultima but would like to see him have one more run.

Sickening to see Nassalam doing so well this term having had a huge bet on The Naiad last year!!

Are U Wise To That is only rated 130, so will do well to get in the race, though he would have got in last seasons race, but this was the only one of the last 5 runnings.

I think Jonjo will chuck Monbeg Genius at it again, though I would hope he wouldn't run in the Peter Marsh at Haydock on Saturday as I imagine the ground will be tacky if it thaws out in time.

Jonjo also has Inch House for the same owner as Are U Wise To That, as well, either one could go for the Ultima (if getting in) or the Kim Muir.

I personally have had a bit nrnb on the goffer for the ultima, opened@20s with hills. He was beat last year by a couple of horses who had over stone+ in hand, probably one of the best ultimas weve had. I know he has form on soft but i think a bit nicer ground would help him too being a Yeats, he'll go there roughly on the same mark.
im keen on Perceval legallois in the kim muir too but i suspect im not alone on that one..

Goffer opened up 25's, someone pointed it out on here on the first day odds were put up. can't remember who ?
He's three pound lower now in Ireland 144 and got put up from 147-149 last year by UK handicapper. He's only 7 as well.
Is likely to run again though so might affect his mark and chances obviously.

I've backed both you've mentioned myself as they are solid options for anyone backing multiple horses in the handicaps. Which I generally do.
