  • I'll be watching for Madara's penalty for the win today as she was on my list for the GA.

If she ends up on 140ish that is a big swing for Funambule Sivola, whilst he may not be the same horse (I can definitely see that angle) it will prove attractive to smart arses if he gets declared. So the 25-1 is even better value after today IMO.

Backed Path Droux at 16-1 today also as he didn't get the best run on first viewing, and due to being close to the British horse his penalty should not have the usual tax. Which it might have done had no UK runner won todays race. Don't know for definite but has to be a potential positive. Anything around the 140 mark would be competitive.

Cromwell may decide to run one of his in the arkle now, hopefully Mozzie as his price is too short for this race.

    • Mozzie looks the perfect horse for the GA. Novice, Right age, right Rating, CD winner. Going straight to festival which screams 'protecting his Mark' to me. I'm not surprised bookies aren't taking any chances with his price. If he runs in the race though he'll be very short imo. I like the look of him very much. Not often I back a handicap horse before the week itself but I've backed him.

            • Isn’t 146 his last hurdle mark when he last ran in a handicap in uk ?

              • Either way
It might not be far off that going off found a fifty

Hes definitely not been given a chase mark in Ireland yet. Not listed anyhow.
Id not seen a uk entry in handicap either but can’t remember if the lingfield race that was abandoned was a handicap or not

                      • He was given a UK mark of 146 when entered at Lingfield. So that’s his UK mark.

Cromwell must be tempted by the Arkle though. Knows he acts at Cheltenham and on a line through Found A Fifty, he’s got a chance.

I must have missed his Lingfield entry, jesus of 146 he could have a right chance, like you say tho arkle does look a bit open now doesn't it

Yeah Cromwell even came out after and implied he was happy with the mark and made up some bull about him not running as he goes well fresh.

"With the mark he has, the Grand Annual is a big option for him, but we'll see. He goes well fresh so I don't think he'll run again between now and Cheltenham."

Still a chance it can be upped again in collateral form now Found A Fifty has proven Xmas wasn't a fluke though right? No reason why they can't do that for Irish raiders like they do for UK horses I guess

                              • There’s a reasonable chance he gets collateral after yesterday.
He has no official chase rating in uk or Ireland as it stands.
But will be around that sort of figure anyhow I suspect.
Be daft not to run in arkle now, especially if they were riding with some restraint the last day.
He has at least 2 other candidates for the annual.
