Fuck value. Just back fucking winners #hammeremoji
Jade De Grugy still looks a fair price I’d say and was very impressive. She probably deserves to go in here as a Solerina winner which is an excellent guide to the mares novice hurdle when Willie has one for it. Sir Gino I’ve been keen on for a while but we’ve missed the boat for one of these now at evens.

Thoughts on Predators Gold for the Albert Bartlett? 20/1 atm but he’s fav for the 2m 6f race at the DRF. Ruby also put him up as his best bet for the weekend. If he wins that he’s probably the fav for the Albert Bartlett I’d have thought.

….we did get Sir Gino onboard at 16-1 in October. Marie’s Rock spoils that one a bit, but it has a chance of a return with Brighterdaysahead & Stage Star.

i think a debate on the Nathaniel Lacy is worth having. Don’t think Saxon Warrior has started the February race planner but does that race have a history of producing AB winners? It doesn’t look like winners of the 2m6f race have a good record in AB, but that trend can be broken and perhaps placed runners do well.

Just made the case for Storm Heart in the Triumph thread. Favourite for the Tattersalls at the DRF this weekend, and put up a visually impressive performance and high RPR on trend for Triumph winners according to Saxon’s stats. Still available at 6/1, and the market could look very different if he wins this weekend.

….delighted to have him in my book with the whopping TWAF offer and he was so impressive on debut. MoM has given him a mention and he hopefully improves again but Sir Gino was superb last weekend and the race has become more difficult.

I should add, we captured Storm Heart (7-1) and Jade (10-1) in last months wager but there’s nothing to stop either/both going in again.

                I’ll get on that tomorrow.

Just as a side note, I’m aware I’ve been a bit slacking this year with these Yankees. It’s been very much more difficult finding the time to update stuff. When I’ve made the selections, I have put in the usual time required (usually spend about 90 minutes re reading the thread, clicking the individual race threads and then making the decision). But the updating of the threads, starting the new threads etc have not been great from myself this year. I’m very appreciative of Eggs for his help with them.

As for next year… I’m willing to carry on next year with them (I vow to be more organised) but, if Eggs wants to, with him also on board doing them? He’s done as much as I have this year with the monthly threads and the reminders that I think him having half the say in the final selection process is absolutely for the best of the Yankees and would be great to have him involved. He’s an excellent poster and a real asset to the forum. Would be an honour to share half the responsibility and half the fun if you would be willing to join me going into next years monthly selections. It’s entirely up to you and there’s no pressure to say yes. I just have thought for a while that it would be a good idea if you were willing.

….as far as I’m concerned, MoM, you’re our Yankee guy and long may that continue. I’m happy to fill in and facilitate the discussion any months you feel you’re busy. If it helps, I can open next years main thread and keep it updated with the bets you select.

I do think it helps if we make the selections timely, so let’s know if you’re struggling to dedicate the time any month or we can press on if you’re not around in those final few weeks. We can chat about it more towards the end of March.

You call the shots, I’m happy to help. Let the profits continue.

That really would be a help as it goes. It’s the updating of stuff that I struggle making time for. The actual bet selecting bets my full time and attention (everyone’s money is at stake so I do take as much time and care on making my final choice from the nominations given and discussion raised now as I did when I started these 6 years ago) but the admin side of it is more difficult to sort out.

As for if I’m struggling to find time in a month or I have another bad spell where being on social media/online is detrimental to me (I include this place in that even though it’s not really the same as twitter, instagram etc), then knowing you’ll be able to fill in does help. And I would make sure going forward to let you know with some notice rather than going MIA for a month on end. I think that definitely works for me.

As you say, we can discuss it again after the festival but I would definitely like you to know, your help over the years with these is very much appreciated by me.

24 hours left to nominate and discuss for the penultimate Yankee of 2024! Incredible how fast it’s come round yet again.

No Stay Away Fay in any yankee to date ?
                        I’d suggest that should change….

                        Edit - in March
Just has the look of a solid 6/1 shot to me…

….i thought the steer from MoM was finding 4 selections ahead of DRF who’s price might tumble.

I’ve been looking at Saxon’s race planner for races that I think have a good record in March. I’ll list them below, might be worth considering.
