She is wonderful over 2m. Trainer doesn't seem so sure about 2m4. Never raced over fences at 2m4. Are we sure she will come to the Mares Chase ? OR155 now so not many options I guess.

Ruby name checked the race time and time again today and said words to the effect of "nothing about todays performance would put you off thinking she's get 2m4f". I'd say it's a nailed on target bar her failing to stay in the meantime.

You couldn't really rule out the champion chase I don't think.

It's just a much better race to win first of all, and if you were to say what her best trip looks to be so far you'd say 2m no doubt.

Ratings wise she needs to find about 10lbs to be in the mix probably, but she's improving all the time.

I think with Willie having the favourite in El Fabiolo, and the owner having the 2nd fav in Jonbon, she'll end up in the Mares Chase

...but you're right, I couldn't (and didn't) rule it out

Personally don't think she'd be good enough though

You could say the same for the mares chase though, with Willie having allegories de vassy, instit, brandy and jp having impervious (not 100% on her chances of making it) and both having zenta if good enough.

It might be the case they'd rather have an extra dart in the big one than going for the comparatively low key mares chase, especially if the champion chase is a small field and they fancy her chances of placing at the very least.

Willie goes for the easier race though in almost any example

                  Also, Brandy is shite
                  Impervious won't be there
                  Instit is shite
Zenta over fences I'll believe when I see. She may impact it.

So he has ADV - he's already shown in the race he'll run his against eachother, Elimay and Colreevy etc

I'd be shocked if she went QMCC, to be honest she's not good enough, she didn't win the Grand Annual, so I wouldn't want her at anything less than 33/1

Just checked and you can get 33/1

Take it - I don't think I will be though

Also Ruby mentioned the Mares Chase non stop all day. In the build up to the race, immediately after, and then in their summing up following the last race of the day. He doesn’t tend to guess at race planning too often so I’d be surprised if the Mares Chase wasn’t the target.

The thing that stood out for me today re Dino Blue is how well she travelled and settled in comparison to how keenly we're used to seeing her race. She won for that reason and if she's grown up and calmed down a bit (which it looked like today) then I'd have the mares as a virtual certainty IMO. I know she had a few howlers in the GA but her jumping today was superb - she's in a different parish to ADV when it comes to jumping.

If they both get there, can be ridden differently too, to give him the maximum chance for one of them to win. He knows ADV gets the trip, so they can ride Dinoblue as if she does, and if not ADV will be there.

Mark Walsh will have to hope Gentleman De Mee is having a good season if he wants a QMCC ride

Why are we saying she won't go to the Mares chase?

                            Absolute non sense

strong staying runner-up Fil Dor by a length and three quarters.

Winning rider Walsh said: "Jumping is her biggest asset and you would have to be delighted with that. Hopefully she can be the type for the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham."

Those thoughts were echoed by Frank Berry, racing manager to winning owner JP McManus. He added: “That was grand. She did it well, jumped well and handled the ground. Mark was very happy with her. She was getting all the allowances and everything was in her favour.

"She should come on again for that. I don't know where Willie wants to go with her, but touch wood, hopefully we will get to the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham in one piece."

Puts that to bed quick, sometimes don't over think things.

Yeh good point. DB may be the better jumper but we know ADV stays very well.

                              Talk of QMCC is jokes

I’m sure Dinoblue will pitch up in the mares chase. The race tends to end up in a battle up the hill with guts and stamina being the difference in races of fine margins. Backers of Dinoblue will hope its a different kind of race this time I’d imagine.
