plenty of racing to use as form so I don’t necessarily believe a theme is required here. drinmore next week, Cheltenham this weekend, down royals last weekend, betfair chase next week, etc.
Very wise decision imo.
Been some really good performances this month so far, and as you say, more interesting races to come.
Reckon I could probably do a few yankees from what I’ve seen.

Agree that using form over words is the way to go this month. Stage Star was exceptional yesterday and would join Iroko on my list of most impressive horses I've seen this month. Toying with adding Facile Vega to that as the Mullins horses seem to be coming on for the run and he's ~3s vs 1 credible rival

What race for Iroko though? The trainers suggest either, he’s looked like he could be equally effective at either, and then we’ve JP’s cohort to consider.

That's a very good question. Personally, I think BANC but it's conceivable that he goes for the Turners. Strikes me as the type to run over 2 and a half throughout the winter before stepping up for the festival. Certainly wasn't stopping at the line in the Martin Pipe and Buddy One is franking that form nicely
….i doubt we’ll be looking at e/w but i like Home by the Lee @ 33-1 Stayers. Not saying he’ll win but I think he could be involved in the finish with the Stayers a definite target.
I know the Albert Bartlett is an antepost graveyard but Stellar Story at 20/1 seems reasonable. Can’t see that he’d be aimed anywhere else and can only see the price shortening
Horses that have impressed me most this month...
Week 1
You Wear It Well
Gentlemansgame
Let'sbeclearaboutit
Week 2
Stay Away Fay
West Balboa
Week 3
Stage Star
Buddy one
Week 4 so far
Gaelic Warrior
Grey Dawning
See what today brings as Punchestown is sure to throw up horses for discussion.
Of those mentioned above, I'd pick out
You Wear It Well 10/1 - grade 1/2 winning novices have a really solid record in the Mare's Hurdle. Love Envoi being the latest and this one has a clear target and a simple way of racing. Negatives being that I can't see her price changing too much
Gentlemansgame 20/1 - it doesn't feel like there are many legitimate contenders for the Gold Cup this year. Galopin, Gerri, Fastorslow and maybe The Real Whacker and Bravemansgame although the latter doesn't look like a proper stayer to me and is having a strange campaign. GMG is unexposed but seems to have avoided Cheltenham to date
Stay Away Fay 9/1 - clear target and a grade 1 festival winner. Debut form franked by Grey Dawning yesterday.
Stage Star 4/1 - nailed on target and the course and distance are perfect. Allaho missed all of last season so there must be doubts over him getting there. Negatives being the price again. He'll probably be similar on the day
Buddy One Stayer's 25/1 - really like an improver for this and he's doing that at a rate of knots. Has a grade 1 entry at Christmas where his price will tumble if he wins. It's a weak division crying out for something to take it by the scruff of the neck. Great Cheltenham record too but obviously needs to improve
Gaelic Warrior Turners 4/1 - that was awesome yesterday. Mullins has used the race for Turners horses before and, with such pace, I can see him ending up here like Galopin. Weaker race on paper to the BANC too. Negatives being he could Might Bite it
Will see what today brings but my current choice would be
You Wear It Well Mare's
Stage Star Ryanair
Buddy One Stayer's
Gaelic Warrior Turners

I need to go back and watch his debut as it sounds impressive. A 10 year old who has been well beaten in the last two Stayer's hurdles would be a significant worry. I don't fancy him, but flooring porter would seem to be the better option at a similar price
