  • I don't think that's a blinding antepost price at all like. Even if he runs I'd be surprised if SP was much shorter than 7s.

It's ultra competitive this year, can make a case for loads and there's no standout, just read the last few pages. Be like 4s or 5s the field, and that'll be a Mullins horse fav. Followed by one or two more and an Elliot horse more than likely.

28/1, 33/1 and 16/1 were the shortest priced English runners in the last three bumpers.

Captain Teague was a very impressive P2P winner and won his bumper before going off at 40s.

    • I’m not convinced by the price either. Jasmin’s debut was more impressive visually and on ratings. Maughreen’s too. Then you have the substance of the DRF race at which The Yellow Clay and You Oughta Know gave a good account of themselves. And Jalon’s run at Christmas was a proper race too. I’d be surprised if Teeshan didn’t go off double figures.

And if he runs, he’s surely better than a 7/1 poke? I vowed to leave the race alone but did have a nibble pre race when seeing that point to point video. I’m surprised at the lack of chat about him in this thread since last weekends win. Arguably the most impressive P2P run and the most impressive debut (probably asides from Maughreen). I think 7s with the stipulation of Nicholls doing a Nicholls removed is a blinding bet.
        ….PP offer 50-1 Teeshan win CB & a/r next year (80-1 CB/Sup).

I got my mate to add these with Betfair, then obviously PP just copy what they do as it's the same company.

I was hoping they wouldn't skip, I really like him, but it looks like they might, given the exchange move, now.

Looks like 2 pence was traded at 100. But has been backed at 14 since.
We know there are doubts about Teeshan running, but I think this exchange market is hard to make conclusive decisions. Same with Jalon,
                    very small amounts.
And a Bumper this year that has no clear Favourite so the market on the day will be wild enough.

Triumph market has been similarly up and down for horses like Kargese, storm heart and burdett road all looking wobbly.

Yeah, I've just taken a view on Storm Heart and cashed some bets on him out. Had him in a couple of multiples, but saw the lack of exchange activity, not to mention his run LTO, and just felt cashing out was the right thing to do for some of them bets.

You have to make the call.
I'd be more wary as Kargese and Burdett looked worse for a while but settled.
For some reason that market has taken against all of the horses in behind Sir Gino except for Majborough, it's not reflective of the main bookmakers books that's for sure.
It's a funny one because I expect the opposite will happen come the day.

                        • I suppose it depends on what price you got COD .
When Kargese looked weak I cashed my 25-1 ticket with 365 and used the profit to get the same return on the exchange and she's slowly come back down.

I missed the boat with Storm Heart, so no juicy odds, so it's not a hard pill to swallow, so to speak. I'm still holding a small E/W ticket on him.

I can't cash any of my Kargese bets, most of which are free bets anyway, so no harm done. I was lucky enough not to get involved in Burdett Road, so that one hasn't caused me any distress.

I agree with you, about what will happen on the day. It makes little sense, the drift on Kargese, yes Majborough could come on for the run, but I'd rather take the form in the book.

The one I felt was unlucky was Bunting and I still think he could run into a place and backed him again this morning E/W @ 16's NRNB. He had to switch after being checked but he takes a little while to get going, and could never end up closer, however the run in up the hill at Cheltenham there is a lot more room so no excuse for him to have traffic issues and think he could run a nice race.

Edit: Also, I've just realised we are in the Champion Bumper thread

That sounds more positive, if he's fine then he probably runs, thats how i read it anyway.
