The double greens don’t normally enter horses in the Festival bumper do they?

They did last season, and It's For Me ran on the same weekend to make his bumper debut. Then straight to Cheltenham.

It’s not just 2pts though. It was the bet that began the yearly foray into betting every bumper horse in the market

Fun Fun Fun was smashed in on the day. Ran like a pig though.

                • There is a very interesting runner in the Gowran Park bumper today for JOB and Robcour called Samyr. He doesn't have the typical page that Robcour would usually purchase and he's not one that's going to make up into a staying chaser in the future. But he hails from a decent middle distance Aga Khan bloodline that can sometimes transfer to the NH game. There aren't many chances left for unraced bumper horses to throw their hat into the ring for Cheltenham but this could be one. Blue Sari won the race a few years back for Willie before going on to finish second at the festival.

Have Robcour had a bumper runner before?

No, but they don't usually purchase horses who would be suitable for the race as they're being looked after for hurdling and chasing. This chap could be an exception as he has a pedigree weighted more towards the flat than NH.

                      • Samyr capped a memorable day for owners Robcour when running out an impressive winner of the concluding bumper at Gowran Park.

Did it well but the tongue tie would be a worry.

Plenty to like about that performance JM.

William Hill keeping him at 14/1 is handy too.

He was as good as most we've seen to date, maybe with the exception of Maughreen. He'd get the age allowance like Blue Sari did too. Interesting one.

He took a little while to know his job but once he got himself together it was a fair effort to pull away like that on bad ground. I can’t find any comments as to if they’ll consider the Champion Bumper but NRNB is worth a poke I’d say.

Tough ask for a 4yo . Was cue card the last to do it? And he was probably the highest (subsequently) rated horse to ever win the bumper (both off the top of my head guesses and both would definitely need to be fact checked)

If they went maybe that would be Oisin Murphy’s festival ride

The time for the race was woeful. Even allowing for the going, nearly 5 minutes for a 2m flat race is pretty pedestrian
