The dark horse I like in the bumper division so far is Patter Merchant for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown. He won at Leopardstown over Christmas, and pulled close to 50 lengths clear with the runner-up. I was very taken with the performance visually. He’s sure to improve and is one to keep on your radar for the big races in this division and when he goes jumping, which Gordon has said it’s all about for him.

I thought the front two today were pretty good by this year's bumper standard. The 2nd was a good PTP winner and the winner was highly thought of but has had issues. Not sure if either will go to Cheltenham but will be watching how they progress on their next runs.
