I'll work out why that's a good price afterwards

      • The strong support for Appreciate It today, was that a pricewise tip or was that in the know/ stable money?

Yeah big fan club on here for Appreciate It, ComplyOrDie and charlie are both in it - definitely loads more

To be fair, 25/1 is a price I'd back each way on the back of that run.... a previous festival winner, who just beat multiple grae 1 winners, including a Gold Cup winner

Easier to make the case now

I just got in the door of his fanclub in the nick of time too. Think if Paul had been in the saddle today he would have won.

I’ve had a little top up with Laddies, 25/1 is the best value in the market currently for me.

Would be even easier had he not got done by a 3 miler over 2m3f.
At the same time though, he’s well beaten mid distance horses.
I would love to know how fit these were yesterday.
Still he’s been a big price and if you like him he’s still backable now.

Yeah would be great to know what was fit and what wasn't, that's why I asked if the money for Appreciate It was a tipster putting him up or if it was stable money knowing which one of the other 4 were fit and ready to win. I backed AF and I knew I was beat before they got to the first fence, put straight out the back. I wish they'd weigh horses before each race, along with visuals it would make figuring these things out that bit easier.

                    • Hard to tell this far out but surprising if the Ryanair has better horses than the John Durkan in it
Stage Star? At hiso price compared to Appreciate It's, is it unfeasible he gets closer?
                      Less likely to improve

I was only saying to my brother how fat Appreciate It looked in the ring in comparison to the rest of Willies. I’d say there plenty of conditioning left in him.

I think Appreciate It will get much closer if given a better ride, the Turners was a gift for Stage Star IMO. Townend was so concerned what Davy Russell was doing on Mighty Potter that he forgot there was a horse upfront trying to win the race. Another shit ride from Davy that inadvertently ruined any chance of Appreciate It winning. Stage Star probably has improved and does have age on his side, but I don't see him improving that much more on his Paddy Power performance (personal opinion), Nicholls admitted he was primed for the race, and the talk of freshening him up or even going straight to the festival would suggest there wasn't that much else to work on. The Real Wacker unfortunately wasn't fit enough and quick enough to really challenge Stage Star up top, and getting struck into on the 2nd circuit prevented any meaningful challenge. I understand Aintree is a bit of a graveyard for festival winners but Stage Star looks beatable if you can hassle him for long enough upfront, Banbridge was quick enough to at least keep tabs on him and in the end he cracked. I expect Allaho, Banbridge and Appreciate It will be able to do the same in March. Banbridge at 16s and Appreciate It at 25s look good plays IMO.

                          • Envoi Allen still value imo, and he will love it if a few take each other on upfront.

Agree. Superb run last time against Gerri. Should be a fair bit shorter based on that run and the way he won the race this year. He'll appreciate the better ground at Cheltenham as well as he hasn't had his conditions yet this season.

                              • You have to respect that angle into the race too. The race does look set up to be a fiercely run affair, if an out and out stayer was able to somehow latch on to them, something closing could have a say, although my gut feeling is the race might already be over by that point. One or two upfront will fold, but I think one will be able to keep going. If Allaho retains the same level of ability then he has that stamina to see it through, the others that will be handy, I'm not 100% sure.
