  • Fuckin hell, that was a devastating performance!

    • Wow what a performance, not only the engine on him but his jumping was much better than at Kempton too, he's the Triumph winner. Happy with the 25/1 slip!

        Wow

        Burdett who

Wonder if that wets Willies appetite for Mundi..

        • It wouldn't have made a difference but I'm not sure it was the greatest ride by Cobden.

With a run away leader you don't want to be off the pace of the second group like he was, you could see he has to tap into a bit of the tank to get round the back markers at the start of the last circuit. When someone goes off like that being at the front of the chasing pack is still similar to being off the pace.
He was also holding on to BR before they came round the bend, I wonder if he should have let him stride on and get up alongside Sir Gino much earlier.

On the plus side, more experience of jumping hurdles with horses around him.

As I said, it wouldn't have changed the result today but I would still look forward to a rematch (and I say that as a back of both)

Donnellys may be wanting Mundi to wait until next year now. Put him in a bumper this season and have the Supreme favourite next year.

Win win situation with him really though.. win the DRF g1 then he's the top IRE juvenile, if he doesnt then he's a novice for next season

I think I’d skip the DRF. Throw him straight into
the Triumph. If he wins the DRF and then gets beaten in the Triumph, they’ve wasted a potential novice campaign. Well not wasted, but you know what I mean.

                  Burdett road simply didn't stay

He didn't get 1m4f on the flat

And in a strongly run race today didn't get home

Had he kicked earlier he'd have only been beaten further imo

Possibly so, it's just a bit of a pet hate of mine when a horse gets restrained which invariably wastes a bit of energy but then doesn't really get involved.

As I said, I don't think it impacted the result at all

                    • That was some performance. I wouldn't be keen laying him at 6/4 tbh.

All eyes on the DRF next week now.

Looks a real chaser don’t he
I would like to see him go chasing straight away
And he does have a potential multi winning CH Hurdler in the yard

                            Very much so

If he hadnt won in france and was eligible I'd say they'd be strongly considering running him in the supreme

He does look a chaser alright but he'll be a weapon wherever he goes, i really like him.

Particularly given what an average bunch the novice 2m hurdlers look.
