I think the horse has won by too far to say that without a brilliant ride he wouldn't have won

IMO anyway that would not even make the shortlist for 'ride of the season'
9 out of 10 jockeys he doesn't settle and loses, likely tailed off having wasted all his energy

    Was a top class ride

Just a number pulled from nowhere 9 out of 10

It was a really good ride ... just won't be mentioned as ride of the season.... that's hyperbolic

If that is the case and you believe it, do you think he's a massive lay at this stage, if he needs a perfect ride to be able to settle?

Only Cobden would be good enough to win on him ? I just don't see it

Did you back him? On him ante post?

Yeah, bit like when people on here were saying how good a ride Kennedy gave Gerri Colombe- when in reality it was bang average at best and the horse got him out of the shit.

Not my circus, not my monkeys...

I didn't say Jack Kennedy gave Gerri a great ride.

A head either way is what usually makes people say it's a great ride or a poor ride - I'm not one of those people

My point was that in my opinion, it wasn't ride of the season .... that's all

I was agreeing with you. Just providing another example of hyperbole in a winning ride.
In this instance though it’s very hard to tell how successful Cobden was in settling the horse.
            I’d go 6/10 jockeys myself.

I reckon cobden is making the horse look a harder ride than he is, i think he's too fast for him.
it's like when you drive your range rover all week then take your ferrari out at the weekend

                Didn't back him yesterday no

Couldn't have him for the triumph myself

He will be the fastest horse in the race I don't doubt that

But he pulls too hard and can't jump

At least half his jumps were excellent and quick
Just lacks a bit of respect

                    - Flattered also by beating handicappers at best?

Did look a bit of a wow performance mind, one for me to watch on his next run against hopefully better opponents.
Could also counter that with just two hurdles in the final 6 furlongs on the new course so will have more opportunity to use his flat speed potentially to get into position. Think handicappers is a little harsh on the opposition. Milan Tino was only 3 3/4 lengths behind Jigme in a grade 2 and his form is consistent from his two runs. An Bradan Feasa already had an Irish maiden hurdle win and is very well bred. Right horses in behind not to doubt the form. Obviously not easy to assess juvenile hurdle form with so little to go on. A lot depends on how you see Milan Tino. Jigme was fav for the Triumph in some quarters and finished 3 3/4 lengths ahead of MT in a race, Burdett Road has beat it 7 lengths running away.

Certainly look forward to the rest of his season and seeing whether this was just a flash in the pan or he really can transfer his flat class to hurdles at a higher level.

Hard to say he's ran to form there for me personally..

But yeah, will definitely be interesting if he ends up taking on say a Sir Gino once hes won on debut..

The key has to be if Milan Tino ran to form and we’ll probably never know.

                        • Milan tino looks like he needs 3 miles

Has done in all 3 of his runs

                          • Burdett Road has to be eyecatching performance of the weekend for me. Not forgetting the start he had at the beginning right out at the back- just aswell mind or could have been carried out like other horse.
Soon as Cobden gave a nudge down back straight to close gap with front group BR is away.
Long season to go to see if just a hype horse but very happy to get this fella on the team sheet. Interesting next run if same tactics riding cold out the back.

                            • He's definitely not just a hype horse is he. He'll probably be the most talented race horse in the triumph hurdle if he lines up like, his flat rating will tell you as much. That's not to say he'll be the best juvenile hurdler that day like but he's definitely not 'hype'. He's proved his class on the flat and is now 2 from 2 over hurdles.

Always going to be the concern of how he settles. But I wouldn't have the course as a concern. Wasn't exactly stopping was he and every chance it'll be better ground for the festival.

A nice recruit from France. She's been working nicely and will run in a juvenile hurdle in the coming weeks.
