  • The stayers is going to be another muddling race isnt it, not really a fan of Teahupoo (think 3 miles isnt his best trip) and this French horse LOL , I aint backing that unless I see it run over here and perform.
Gold Tweet in 3rd at 16/1!!! OMG

Could make a killing in this market if you have nailed the winner this far out, but good luck with that

Theleme at least as a decent rival to take him on.
Completely agree, when he cruised into the lead at the second last he should have just kicked on.

Teahupoo stays and he gave him that chance imo.

          • Teahupoo going straight to the Stayers according to Robcour. I like that plan.

Bad for racing as we won't see him but likely good for his chances of winning

Yeah, glad to hear as he appears better fresh
Still think he'll bump into 1-2 that are better stayers
Maybe the absence of flooring porter, may not be as strongly ran. My concern with him is, he'd want soft ground - which he go last year

yupppp, didnt think of it that way, but you are totally right
as a owner, you can see why, but as a fan and punter.... one less in whats already a weak division in terms of quality and when we're seeing 5-6 field races over here at this distance

                    • General consensus around IEP at the business end today?
Do folk think it was simply beaten by a hardier/experienced horse or view it differently?
I ask as they really didn't get racing until late and IEP has to be a faster horse than Tea.

I thin both ran up to their marks
Both are suited to middle distance, and likely to run their best RPR's at this trip
I thought the race didnt have much pace it in, and expected IEP to take advantage... but its a tough slog at fairyhouse, especially when its soft

If the stayers turned into a 2 mile 4 race, i.e. no pace at all for the first 5-6 furlongs, I can make a case for Teahupoo but as it stands, I'm still searching for something.

                        • I thought that the first two both enhanced their respective festival claims. Even the third ran respectably.

In a race that was slowly run he should've been too quick for teahupoo (a horse that got outpaced over 3 miles at punchestown)

Honestly think the owners have wasted a year of the horses career wanting a hurdling campaign

Even if Con Hill got injured don't think he'd beat state man in a champion hurdle

                            • Yeah the race today wasn’t a proper end to end gallop, it should have suited IEP. He should have kicked clear & won. Maybe Teahupoo was far more forward today but IEP should have been winning today if he has Chamion Hurdle aspirations.

                              • Very bullish over Teahupoo’s Stayers chances now he goes straight there. He’s miles better fresh!
