    • Only backed Theleme a couple of weeks ago and couldn't cash out, right kick in the ball bag that.

      • Would IEP be a 6/1 shot if he lined up here do we think?

It sounds like it'd only happen if he's well beaten next time out, which doesn't help.

Flooring doesn't offer much value NRNB after looking at him

As a related bet I doubled the 6/1 IEP NRNB for Stayers with State Man in the without Con Hill market, get just over 9/1 currently

          • Irish Point the new fav now . Can see him going shorter when JK decides on his ride.

I’d say with the French horse out, Irish Point is undoubtedly the classiest horse in the race.

But it’s the stayers hurdle and it’s not very often won by the classiest. A proper battler is what wins a stayers and we’ve no ideal if he’s got that in the locker if it becomes a gruelling end to end gallop.

he’s still the one to beat but I wouldn’t want him to go much shorter if he’s to be a bet

              • With Robcour being hot and cold on the Fez these days, would they really waste two darts at the same race? Especially now the main protagonist is out? Hasn't aintree been on the agenda for Irish point all season.

I would assume the Theleme news could further comprise sending both of them. Lets be honest, which ever horse Jack picks will shorten and the other severally lengthen.

Will be good to hear from one of the Acheson's on the subject, considering Irish Point skipped the Fez last year.

This is why I don't feel the need to cover Irish point now

I don't see Jack choosing him and reckon il get 6s or 7s on the day on betfair exchange due to that

Gordon said last week that they are both very likely to run. Why not have two top chances in the race ? About time Robcour started getting something back on their investment in the sport. Aintree can be discussed after.

                    • Sickener. Doesn't sound like the injury is bad, just misses the prep run and they don't want to go without a prep run.

Wait until the day now to see what the pace angle looks like as there aren't many keen front runners. Wouldn't fancy any of the English lot. If there isn't much pace on, Sir Gerhard would be the one to beat for me but this race looks ripe for an outside pick.

                      • Sir Gerhard not been spoken about an awful lot, seemingly focused on the pair of Robcour horses but Sir G recorded an RPR of 158 for winning a Mickey Mouse race yet it was the same Irish Point achieved for winning a G1, and only 2lbs off what Teahupoo achieved in the Hattons Grace.

I keep thinking Willie might switch Impaire Et Passe, but maybe he thinks Sir Gerhard has enough to win the race for him.

                        • Sounds like Bromley mind made up with IEP sticking to CH. Agree that Sir G is a huge player and he's crept quietly into the race despite his festival record.

Teahupoo got 166 for the Hattons Grace and also two efforts of 168 including the previous Hattons Grace.

He'd not be suited by a strongly run race imo as i think 3m might stretch him a little. Although if it was run at a crawl, SG and Irish Point would be the two that I'd want to side with.

It's a fascinating race at the moment and easy to make claims for the top 5 or 6 in the betting.

                              • It’s a shame the French fella isn’t coming over. It takes a little lustre off the race. However, I did take a position against him and hope Jack boots the winner home
