all of them are at an age where improvement is much more likely than that of sir g.
Crambo was available at the same odds as sir g, I tried with all my might to convince everyone he was a grade 1 winner in waiting at 3 miles.
If you've missed the boat he's still there at a backaable price, stop wasting time with sir g

He's not a backable price now, far from it, he's half the price he should be.
I'm afraid there are some bigger guns coming and IMO he's no Big Bucks 2.

He has a better win to run ratio then any of the other contenders and he just won a grade 1 on his 2nd attempt at 3 miles.
He has the turbo gear at the end of a 3 mile race that all top stayers have.
He will relish cheltenham and the stayers.
And as for half the price he should be, behave yourself.
      Yeah you're right he's crambo number 1

Come back to me on the price, and i'll let you have the 10-1 best even though he's 8's general.
Obviously anyone on at 20's or bigger then they have a lively outsider chance with potential for sure.
This market is compressed too much and not stretched as a real market would be at the moment.
But it could hold as there's is a lot of stuff can happen yet but IMO given normal stuff happening he should be nearer the 14/16's, especially if both robcour horses run, which I think is why the market is skewed and compressed at the top.

Anyway, I'm on the Giddy bandwagon, but Crambo can do one.
And I've cashed the Porter as well. It was fleeting.

        • Aye, Crambo should be laid off at this point if anyone's backed him. Real poor price available, in what's shaping up a decent renewal by recent Stayers standards.

          • I agree about Crambo. Done well to beat Paisley Park but that one isn't getting close in what looks a competitive Stayers Hurdle.

As it happens I backed him at 24/1 double odds boost with Hills after his win, but it's more a cover bet than anything else, I'm not expecting returns from it.

or people should back their judgement and just collect on him.
laying off? what happened to the punter that had a bit of bollocks and just collected.

I'm not one for after timing but this particular loser won me the best part of 5 bags on the 23rd december

I'm pretty sure it has been common knowledge on here i'm a huge admirer of crambo long before the long walk hurdle.
The only thing i've after timed is that i won a good amount on 23rd. i'm sure that was obvious too most anyway.

You seem to want to get embroiled in debate with me atm, something going on? got some issues?

                        • Talking about classy and getting back to Stayers chat.......

                          Sir G.....

"Took a while to recover from that fall at Naas," he said, "he pulled muscles all over the place so we decided to come back over hurdles. This was a nice type of race, when you see the type of runner in it, a lot of horses coming back from fences. I'd have to have a chat with Cheveley Park but I'd imagine we might be trying to stay over hurdles and maybe go down the Stayers' Hurdle route rather than back over fences.
"Paul said to me he galloped like a three miler throughout the race and he was idling in front I thought; we wouldn't have any worries about the trip.

"He made the running in the Cheltenham bumper and we decided to do that because he was so keen going and it paid off but he's settling a lot better now. Just hoping (he'd put in a performance like that); he pulled a lot of muscles in his back and I was hoping that wouldn't stop him jumping but he jumped very well today and he seemed to have got over it all. He was nice and rounded jumping his hurdles, everything went way better than I thought it could go.

"We could (see him again before March). Trying to find a race for him now. I'm not sure I want to go to the Galmoy with him, we might find a shorter race somewhere just for fitness rather than practice."

                          • I can’t be having Sir Gerhard for the Stayers, they’d be better served waiting for the Aintree. He beat a bunch of mostly average staying chasing handicapers that were having a racecourse gallop today. He’s on the decline for me at the top level & has been since his Ballymore win.

He was an early bloomer bully in bumpers & over hurdles as a novice. He plateaued fairly rapidly from 7yr old onwards which is understandable.

                            • I still think 9/2 is fine about Theleme. They say he’s coming over and his form is mustard. He’s put the best of Willie’s to the sword and Il Est Francais. Teahupoo is relatively exposed in my book. He would be a worthy fav without Theleme, but lacks the class. I’d have a saver on Irish Piint were confirmed as heading this way, but still needs to prove he stays after the crawl they went last week.

                              • He's been chasing since 7 though Sean??? Clearly that didn't work. Hurdling is his game .
