Has anyone heard any news on Shoot First? Looked a possible contender for this, but not seen for some time now.

2024 Stayers Hurdle

Impaire Et Passe will be entered in the Reelkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Run on the New Course at Cheltenham over 2m4. Am I reading too much in to this but seems a strange option for a Champion Hurdle horse. Could he end up in The Stayers and leave Champion Hurdle to State Man ? Plenty of Blue on Oddschecker too.

Worth a poke EW as seems to be unexposed, ive backed him EW in the longwalk at 16s on Saturday. Fingers crossed he stays.

Aye, I appreciate it's a Cheltenham forum but... It's a case of being too focused on the festival that imo. 16s to beat that field on Saturday or 66s for the Stayers is an easy decision surely. You take the 16s and then you decide afterwards if you've any interest in the Stayers or not.
Basically the only scenario that'd look a mistake is if he's 20 lengths clear when he comes down at the last...
He'd be a bit young for me like. Do 4yos win Long Walks? Don't think many 5yo win Stayers.Last edited by Benjy23; 22 December 2023, 06:56 AM.

I also don't like to stake too heavy antepost incase they dont turn up. The most i have on any single is 5pts, I still haven't got over Ferny Hollows failed Arkle season..

I'm just so glad he won today after the last day.
He's a contender for march that's for sure, he'll love the stayers, perfect race for him.
