I think it’s first things first. Of course from our perspective it’s all about what festival target but if I was part of the ownership group all I’d be thinking right now is whether she retains all her ability. So to even run at the festival she needs to run a big race in the relkeel. Win or close second to bob wound tick the box. She showed very little in last years mares but looked a lot better at Aintree. If she performs admirably in the relkeel I’d be very surprised if they don’t resort back to plan A. If she doesn’t if she were mine I’d seriously be considering the breeding shed.

    • Relkeel could be a very hot race. Bob Ollinger, Marie's Rock, Love Envoi, Irish Point......

No it's not. It's an average of all the bookies lol

          • There is not one bookmaker on Oddschecker which currently has West Balboa shorter than any of Teahupoo, Theleme or Irish Point.

Of the 17 bookies quoting both West Balboa and Impaire Et Passe, at five they are priced the same, nine have IEP shorter and three WB shorter.

She's my biggest winner at the moment, but she isn't third favourite.

There's the issue. No way is IP going anywhere near a Stayers. Problem sorted. I took him and IEP out of the equation.

Theleme not been confirmed a definite runner yet, and if it's quickish ground Gordon might pull Teahupoo,so you could argue she's the moral favourite.

Yes. I was going to say he was fav now but decided against it as the forum would have gone into meltdown

                    • Have noticed he's really short for the Xmas Hurdle at Leopardstown. Easily the shortest of all the Mullins entries so a bit of hope yet that Willie will send him back over the small ones where he's lethal.

                      • About as lethal as Christopher Biggins in a fist fight

                        • Shouldn’t have gone there. Biggins is probably quite tidy with his fist

Might be significant as PP seem to be adjusting a lot of their books today, maybe prior to the Christmas entries starting to come out tomorrow. I'd rather SirG not go for the Stayers as he could be a live danger to Teahupoo and Theleme who I'm both more invested in.

                              • Fergal O'Brien believes the big handicap hurdle on Betfair Chase day was "the one that got away" as he plans to launch his promising stayer Crambo into open Grade 1 company for the first time in the Howden Long Distance Hurdle (2.25).

Crambo was sent off at 5-1 at Haydock after a bullish update from his joint-owner Chris Giles, who had already backed him at 33-1 for the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, but the six-year-old could finish only third to Slate Lane after meeting trouble in running.

The Grade 3 EBF Final winner was pulled up in last year's Challow Hurdle and finished seventh in the Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree but is the outright favourite with a number of firms for Ascot's feature event on Saturday, when he will face horses up to five years his senior, including Champ and Paisley Park.

"He’s still very young and he’s won a lot of races for us but I feel like Haydock was one that got away from us," O'Brien said. "He worked very well on Friday, he schooled again on Monday and we're very happy with him.

"We’re going to roll the dice and run him in the Long Walk, which will answer a few questions. The handicapper put him up 3lb for finishing third last time and he’s on the cusp of Graded racing."

Connor Brace has partnered Crambo for eight of his nine starts, including at Haydock – Paddy Brennan was aboard in the Challow – but will not be aboard on Saturday when Johnny Burke is set to take the ride for the first time

Must've been expected after the ride the last day.
