If we are doing one based around the Down Royal and weekend runners, and I assume we will wait for declarations but I'd say the following would be of interest:
Gerri Colombe - Gold Cup
The grade 1 looks pretty poor. 6s and 7s still available for him. How many genuine contenders are we going to have for this race - Galopin, BMG, LHomme Presse, Gerri and maybe Shishkin?
Firefox - Albert Bartlett
Could be entered in the 2m6 race. Half brother to the Bosses Oscar. Some good bumper form.
If we look at the last 4 Elliott winners, Fury Road went the potato race, Farouk D'Alene won the Limerick Xmas race then injured before Cheltenham but would have went there, Hollow Games ended up being split from Ginto but was fancied to go the Bartlett and American Mike, who ended up being a non factor the rest of the season.
Maybe Better Days Ahead will turn up here but I can see Down Memory Lane going for the 2 mile novice on
Romeo Coolio - bumper.
Or whoever the chosen Saturday runner is. I wouldn't particularly like any of the likely ones for the Champion bumper but will be a shortener if/when they win.
Brighterdaysahead - Mares Novice
Last 3 winners have ran ok at Cheltenham. Highly regarded in the yard.
Also some non-Elliott horses with entries who could be of interest:
Corbett's Cross
Sandor Clegane
An Tobar
Theatre Native

Maries Rock at 10/1 (Stayers Hurdle)
Stage Star at 16/1 (Ryanair)
Brighterdaysahead at 8/1 (Mares Novice)
Sir Gino at 16/1 (Triumph)
Odds - 28,610/1
Bookmaker - Bet365
Reasons:
- Marie’s Rock. Went for Marie’s Rock over Theleme because of the excellent argument made about uncertainty over targets regarding the latter. The latter can be included in the coming months if we hear more about him coming over from the land of Croissants and Baguettes. He does sound very talented from the little I know of him though and if he does look like coming over, would have a huge shout of being in one of these Yankees before March. I was keen to include MR instead seeing as the stayers is wide open now with the outrageous absence of the champion elect in GW. She’s still unexposed at the trip and ticks enough boxes for me. She seemed very popular throughout the thread too.
- Stage Star. Hadn’t backed him myself and I believe last years Turners was poor. However, it’s a very fair price and it’s a very clear target for a previous Cheltenham winner. No argument from me. Rock solid to go in a Yankee at this stage in the year.
- Brighterdaysahead. A bit of a flier with little talk of her in the thread but she did get a nomination and I’m keen to have one in the race at an early stage. Yard do seem to like her and she’s worth getting onboard at an early stage when she is another with one clear and obvious target.
- Sir Gino. As has been the theme of my selections here, it’s another horse who was nominated who has one likely target. Whilst I did see the Mullins horse Maljbrough was also nominated for this month for the Triumph market, I’ve gone with Sir Gino who there’s been plenty of chat about in recent months and seemed more popular on here from those in the thread earlier in the month. A difficult final choice but I wanted one of the two to fit in with having four selections who will surely be aimed at these races. The theme has somewhat inadvertently and then deliberately from myself turned into a ‘rock solid’ Yankee with horses having very likely targets at these four races.
Thanks to everyone as always and onto November we go. Remarkably that means we have just four left to go!

We've already had that three times with Gaelic so would it be better to have a horse with a more solid target?
