  • Who will be Mullins Triumph Horse?

After JackieMoon33 interesting poll on Nicky's supreme runner, Fouroverthrutwo suggested we run a poll on the Mullins triumph horse. Its a race Mullins appears to have by the balls lately and I suspect 2024 will be no different. His success with his juveniles mares last year must be considered. I think the weight allowance at that age is a huge benefit when the physical gap between fillies and geldings is not so drastic.

Mullins has again recruited a large number of juveniles from FR and I've listed those below who I feel will be battling it out for the A team. I'd always advise reading FR form direct from french gallop as quite often the RP miss some races. Equally I don't pay much attention to RPRs given on FR juveniles before they've been seen on Irish/UK tracks. Mainly as there isn't much to base a rating off and again its just someones opinion at a desk in RP. Much prefer the eye test and subsequent form lines.

Interested to here everyone's opinion on Mullins Triumph squad and who we all fancy at this very early stage. Can select two from the poll as I will myself

….Bunting into 16-1 from 25-1 with Hills. Has had a bit of a haircut after apparently getting a positive mention in one of the pre-season books.

Hopefully some of the other bookmakers will be getting their Triumph Hurdle markets up soon!

It's a big ask, but has anyone got a link to the videos for the above horses races?

And yet, I got the response some 6-weeks ago from 365 that they were going to have the market up "imminently" and that it had been priced up already. Their customer services is terrible.

Seems like they've changed the layout of their DM system also, doesn't really help at all. More people that request it though I'm sure will help.

Reckon I missed the 25/1 by half an hour.
                    Disappointing.

ComplyOrDie what chance others offer any value when they price up ?
I'd have thought any bookmaker seeing a rival give a horse a haircut will stand out as a red flag when they consider going live...

To my memory Ista, plenty of us jumped on Jazzy Matty early with a non cashout firm (sky/hills/unibet) last season at 33s and he opened up 50s with 365, obviously not a Mullins horse so may not get the same luck, but theres every chance 1 or 2 are put up a little bigger than the current prices.

                        Here’s hoping Jim.
Though by the sounds of it there aren’t many in a rush to price the market…

I did wonder if the cash out firms realise they took a hit on horses this time of the year last year. Seemingly everyone was on Lossiemouth at 16-1 following the info in OJA. And to a lesser extent, a lot had Gala Marceau and Blood Destiny covered too. I was definitely more profligate betting the Triumph knowing I could cash out those I didn't fancy for no/a limited loss.

I can imagine Antepost betting Aug- Oct was very profitable for punter in the Triumph last year and they are waiting for that period to pass. Also helps that other companies will be 'finding' the market for them.

Has it been said anywhere that bunting goes juvenile hurdling this season? Or could he be one that gets a year at Willie's to acclimatise and goes novice hurdling as a 4yo in a years time?

I more just want a bookmaker with cash out as an option tbh, but even so, sometimes one of them will go bigger as they have no current liabilities on the race.
