        Nice Gold Cup history Spectre
Surpriser you didn’t mention the original racecourse was up Cleeve Hill on the site of the current Golf Club, I’ve often driven past the entrance and promised to visit as there must be a memorial there.
        Enjoyable viewing…

Really want to echo this Spectre - as a relative latecomer to the sport, the history of the GC is something I don’t know too much about. I’ll be trawling YouTube for some replays over the next few weeks thanks to that video.

As an aside, I went for a run up Cleve Hill in August when on holiday and went through the golf course/old racecourse. There’s nothing there now of course, but it did make me think how exposed it would have been up on the hill!

Looking forward to watching the Chepstow videos later tonight.

Haven't seen a memorial but there's a stonking view of the racecourse from up there, together with a large portion of Gloucestershire. Well worth doing the Cleeve Hill Common Ring Walk.

Thanks both, I really will get in there one day, it would be a travesty if there’s nothing at all, maybe something in the golf clubhouse….

Spectre such a fascinating listen/watch. Thank you for taking the time to share this knowledge with us.

Thankyou gentlemen. That feedback really is very much appreciated.

Yes I agree Istabraq. Maybe a mention of Cleeve Hill should have been on there. As Imperial Commander says, it's very much worth getting up there. The view of the racecourse is incredible. It's something I could look at for hours.

The Chepstow Day 2 previews are now posted in two parts. I hope you enjoy them.

                    Part 1

                    Part 2

if these are something you enjoy I'll do some more of these as the season goes on.

I may also cover the history of some of the big races through the season if that's something you'd like to see more of.

Really enjoying these Paul, and loving the weekend preview. Always respect your thoughts, and giving me a few things to think about.

Spectre. Re the Persian War.....surprised you didn't give a mention for the mare who finished a close 2nd to Sandor Clegane at the Punchestown Festival . That has to be the best hurdle form on offer. Also Cold Sobar must surely be on your EW radar coming down to Chepstow from Selkirk! They'll not want to go back home empty handed.

Very much appreciate you taking the time to create these. Far better insight in to specific horses than I have and clearly done your homework. Definitely a positive for my thinking and betting. Thanks a lot.

All been enjoyed and much appreciated, just the right length too. On the Gold Cup, your main reason for ruling out L'homme Presse was that he'd missed a season, when in fact he'd run twice picking up an injury in the King George. While that is a worry I think if coming back 100%,he could definitely be a player.

I'd back L'homme Presse for the Ryanair if he came back next month
I dont like back horses after a whole season off, I mean 360 days or more. L'homme Presse had a good prep going into the king george, injured and been off since. I havent seen much news about him but would want to hear that he was back training by now and ready to run within next few weeks

If so... maybe one to keep in tracker - just in case

I've heard a couple whispers now saying all is not well with LHP. I'd definitely want to see an entry or even a mention from Venetia before even thinking about backing him antepost.
