Rory's tip was amateurish at best, he didn't even know his handicap mark when it was already published.

    • I'm surprised Cromwell is still talking about running Letsbeclearaboutit (153) in the handicap. Almost impossible task in that as a novice. And no horse has ever won the race (novice or otherwise) with a rating of 150+

Would have a live chance in an open looking Turners, and would have won the handicaps Ginny won had he ran off the same marks.
He's actually unlucky after 5 chase starts to be on such a high rating.
If he thinks he's well handicapped then he'd have a better shout in the turners, with a smaller field and less chance of accidents.

      Grey Dawning rated 153, Ginny's Destiny 155.
The only two likely rated higher ?? have serious doubts in Gaelic and Facile.

He's a smart fella Gavin so I wonder if he'll have a re think.

Yeah he looks 7-10lbs too high to be winning off that mark

He'd need to be a 160 horse to win off 153 and on what we've seen he's just not

Surprised he's not saving him for the 2m4f grade 1 at fairyhouse

Yeah, just on a line through the Fav he's really up against it, and then there's probably half dozen also ahead of the handicapper and then others with really strong C&D form which counts for a lot in this race.

          • Looks like the Handicapper has taken a real dislike to Cromwell and his Handicappers. Probably pissed off with him winning so many UK Handicaps this season. He wants to put a stop to it.

            • Interesting, this may have been the Gault stats preview. Bit more to the Gaelic Warrior comments from Casey though. He actually says he would run Gaelic in the Arkle and that he would take all the beating too

Not a dickie bird about Hunters Yarn running !!???

They are completely against Marine Nationale aren't they! Can't all be wrong. Not that keen at all on IET or FAF either. From Cromwell's body language I'd say Mozzie goes Arkle and not GA.

                  Wide open baby !!

That Irish Arkle was pretty poor if we are really looking at it. Same for the Xmas grade 1. The handicappers were quicker and we know that the Arkle at Cheltenham is going to be run at a proper gallop. It's not going to be like those two races. You can see why the preview circuits will be highlighting other horses not tied into the form of those 2 races.

I haven't a clue who's going to win it though but should be a good betting heat on the day.

                    • Anyone thinking of topping up/adding corbetts cross for nhc might be wise to do so sooner rather than later is a standout outt 10/3 on 365, generally 5/2 most places and isn't far off Embassy gardens on the exchange, jamie codd was singing his praises earlier and even Patrick mullins i think yesterday in a interview said something about corbetts cross form being better than Embassy gardens, can't see the 10/3 being around for much longer

Good advice in terms of the standout price, but even the standout price is horrific value.
This looks a ridiculously competitive NH Chasem if Embassy Gardens, Salvador Ziggy and Nick Rocket all turn up here it'll be the deepest NH Chase I can remember, and that's without the possibility of Flooring Porter or Minella Cocooner landing here too.
For me this isn;t a race to get involved with now, hopefully everyone has the front few at bigger prices and can just watch and enjoy...

Nick Rocket's tipped over on the Moon Ista !

                          Agree about the prices though.

All ifs and buts about how strong a renewal it will be at this stage and who turns up, agree about it not being a great price but I was just looking at my own position on the race and thought I wanted to get corbets cross to a potential bigger return in line with what I have the other 2 market principals and when looking around at his price and seeing the standout on 365 which is bigger than he's at on the exchange atm I thought it might be useful to someone else

                            • Nick & Minella won't run here in the NHC
Think it's been a 2 horse race from a long way out myself with Embassy & Corbett, wouldn't personally have Ziggy at any price.

Do you think nick or minella will run at all at the festival this year ?
