  • Fact To File is by Poliglote, who is being touted as a Gold Cup horse of the future.

The last Poliglote Willie trained was Don Poli, he won the RSA then went and finished 3rd in the Gold Cup the following season. I know times have changed with Galopin taking a different route (Turners > Gold Cup) but Al Boum Photo went RSA > Gold Cup and it didn't do him any harm.

Coincidentally the year Don Poli won the RSA a Paul Nicholls horse finished 2nd, the same could happen this season.

Chalk and cheese from last week when the vibes were very much Fact To File to the Turners to now BANC being favourite.

Probably plenty more twists and turns to come, I'm sure.

    • A bit like this year, when Galopin went Turners Willie had also rans in the BANC. Could also say that Appreciate It maybe was his best Staying Novice chaser last year who went Turners with also rans going BANC. Faugheen also went Turners. He surely was his best Novice that year as well. Same again this time around???

      • I think the frank bberry/ jp factor will play more of part in this ,more than the owners of those previous horses did anyway, so comparisons are difficult.

They surely want winners though like everyone else. Don't think anyone can say hand on heart that BANC is easier than Turners this year and the mid trip definitely suits F2F.

          • Don’t forget they left the French horse in the turners.

            • I genuinely don't think any single factor will trump everything else. I think it will be the usual 8-12 piece jigsaw of Mullins trying to get as many winners as possible, having decent backups where possible, all whilst trying to keep owners (and potentially jockeys) happy. My head tells me Turners makes slightly more sense for F2F, whilst the betting suggests BANC. It genuinely makes my head hurt trying to figure it out so I'm just going to nervously watch the news and markets for the next 4 weeks like I usually do at this time of year.

I don't use the exchanges but are there any signs on there that this is likely? I would have thought, given the way the Turners will probably cut up, they'd end up coming over. But then someone on here mentioned that the prep race in France before the French Gold Cup is worth a lot of money so not sure it is as likely if true.

Yeah, what's that all about?? Another error like Theleme?? He'd be way shorter if he was coming over.

                  • Just noticed that Grey Dawning has been heavily backed for the Turners. No more double digit prices.

Not really, just interesting they left him in.

The stuff that they've come out with since he won at Kempton have been windy, to be kind.
So I've no idea, but best guess is that he is very unlikely to come over, but is still in the list.

Il Est Francais can be backed at 17/1 for the Turners on the exchanges, so it's extremely unlikely that he's heading there, and doesn't have an entry for the BANC. F2F is out to 4/1 for the Turners (now 2nd favourite behind Ginnys Destiny) and just 5/2 for the BANC, so it's looking ominous for Turners backers.

Yea think it’s worth 30k more and doesn’t involve a ferry, looks the correct prep if you were them.

you’d love if he was in training this side

                            • Broadway Boy was found to be suffering from stomach ulcers after he disappointed at Warwick behind Grey Dawning. Having won three of his first four outings over fences, the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained novice was prominent in the betting for the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase next month.

However, having been harried for the lead he was beaten approaching the second last and finished over 30 lengths behind Grey Dawning.

Whether he now steps up in trip for the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham or goes for the Grade One Brown Advisory has still to be decided.

“It’s completely up in the air and there’s a lot of water to go under the bridge yet,” said assistant trainer Willy Twiston-Davies.

“It’s been narrowed down to either the Brown Advisory or the National Hunt Chase but that is it, we’re not sure yet and we’ll make a decision the week before, probably. Both options are definitely open.

“It will be a case of seeing who goes where and what the ground is looking like.

“He’d be close to the top of the ratings for the National Hunt Chase whereas he might have to improve slightly for the Brown Advisory, but we’ll see nearer the time.

“He scoped badly after Warwick and then we also found that he had stomach ulcers as well, but we’re back on track now.”

                              • I'd imagine of fact to file runs in the turner's both grey dawning and Broadway boy will run in the BANC

If FTF runs in the BANC they may well go to the turner's and NHC

They won't mind just taking on stay away fay but taking on both SAF and FTF would be a tough task
