Kevin floaty hair was basically writing him off the other day. Like he was on his death bed.

He's ran one bad race in his life.

Yes, he's had a wind operation but some trainers give every horse an op and often multiple times, it's far from uncommon and actually par for the course and basically a quick win in most instances to make then run faster. They'd take their fucking tongues out if they thought it'd let them get more air in.
Wearing a Funnel is illegal or they'd do that as well.

But everyone and his dog is convinced it was a wind issue that caused the bad run when it could be dozens of other reasons. Horses run below form every day and more often than not it's unexplained.

People saying shit like his head is in the air looking for oxygen is absolute shite, as his head carriage is no different to when he won the supreme.

He is a risk as a betting proposition but the price might get attractive.
I'd be willing to forgive myself.

If I was Barry and I did find something that may have been the cause, I'd fucking tell no one and do my bollocks on him for the arkle.
Very much agree with this. I didn't really see much difference in his head carriage from the Irish Arkle to any of his previous runs. Not ashamed to admit I topped up when PP went 11/4.

It does look a weak renewal. I know SAF ran well in open company but there's not a lot of confidence behind him at all or else he'd be way shorter now. It's a winnable race now for sure even for those G2 horses. He threw 5 at it last year in another poor race leaving his best horse to win the Turners and didn't get the winner so he may do the same again this year.

      • Surely with the GCW news, Willie has to step Facile Vega up in trip to the Turners. For me, F2F is now bound to go Brown advisory as he has no other option to compete with SAF or grey dawning. Nick Rockett or Minella Cocooner may also come here as Townend’s ride.

After GW’s terrible showing on Sunday I can’t see him making the festival. Going full on Mullins bingo, I see his novice chasers lining up something along these lines:

        Arkle
        Hunters Yarn
        IET
        Blood Destiny

        Turners
        Facile Vega
        Minella Cocooner

        Brown Advisory
        F2F
        Nick Rockett

        NHC
        Embassy Gardens

All guesswork on my part but in this scenario Mullins will have the clear favourite in the Brown Advisory & NHC with the Arkle & Turners looking very open.

        • All this talk about who Willie will run in the BANC.......who will be Gordon's horse ?? Do we see Salvador Ziggy running in it ?

          • Just not sure. NH chase or Irish National. None of his look quite good enough
mum struggling to see past fact to file now for the BANC

            • On paper you'd have to say the easier race for F2F to win would be the Turners. He's got Ginny's Destiny to beat but then what else is there ?? I've gone through the latest betting and the next one I come to who I believe will run in it is .......................................cant find one !!!!!! Can anyone help me find another certain runner?? Maybe there's some huge EW prices to be had in the race ??

Was just doing the same. We won’t get the same prices as GDC/Bob year, but I thought Marble Sands might be worth a small dart EW at a big price. 5th in last year’s Ballymore, albeit 20L behind IEP, won at the weekend. He’s a clear G2 animal at best, but at 66/1 might be worth a small interest?

I’m the same. Outside of Ginny’s Destiny & F2F there are no obvious runners. If F2F does go Brown Advisory it really is an open race. If ever there was a chance to step Facile Vega up in trip, which he’s crying out for, it’s this years Turners.

Exactly how I'm planning on playing this race now... Wait until near decs and find some big prices for some muggy each ways

Thinking back... The Bob/GDC race was probably the best betting opportunity I can remember, and it had nothing to do with either of them!

Gaelic and/or Facile Vega, Ginny, slim chance of Iroko and it's 33/1 bar. Definitely some each way value to be had!

                    • Reckon there’s any chance giovinco goes for the turners? The way he travels through his races wouldn’t see the drop in trip as an issue and I’d imagine they’d wanna keep him and apple away separate. Has anyone heard anything regarding him after his pulled up at kempton?

Wouldn't be surprised if he ran in the ultima

They bungled his season running at kempton

All the faces say Vega sticks to Arkle. Can't see Gaelic travelling over now and I don't see Iroko being thrown into the race either after his setback and the fav being same owner........
so 33/1 bar is where to look for sure.

                          • Current price on Sharjah could be huge value in Turners maybe ? Was running on at the death not that far off them in the Irish Arkle and obviously just loves Cheltenham in the Spring.

Willie will have a runner for sure... for me if Gaelic doesn't come over then I think Facile Vega steps up. Maybe F2F comes here and Vega stays at 2m, but he will have a runner nonetheless.

Was more meaning for numbers purposes, expect one or two from Willie, Ginnys Destiny, then not a great deal else. Iroko is a possibility, but agreed he seems on the unlikely side. I'm not overly interesting in discussing Mullins bingo at this stage, but I would be very very shocked if he didn't have at least one runner.

Probably worth keeping track of the stable tours for all the trainer quotes to see if we can find this years Busselton/El Barra.

                              • American Mike could be some e/w value at 33/1. Looks sure to be Elliot’s runner here, great first run of the season beating an admittedly under cooked F2F. If you can forgive a poor run last time this looks to be value & will be closer to around 8/1 on the day if we get a 5-6 runner race.
