That'd mean Willie running his best two novice chasers against each other though
That doesn't seem likely
2 potential best mid trip horses yeah, but GCW looks every bit a 3m chaser so him losing over 2m5 against f2f wouldnt be a big negative towards his BANC chances.

That's assuming that Mullins agrees with bookies/punters that gaelic is one of his top two when your talking about Cheltenham specifically. A lot of the noises from them would indicate that they don't think the course suits him at all, in which case he may not be one they'd rely on as a solid first choice for any race at the festival.

He's odds on though NRNB and 11/8 best antepost.
Mullins would know this.

Does that really matter though? If the feeling from Mullins and the jockeys who've rode him at the track is that he genuinely isn't the same horse there and isn't capable of the sort of performances that he puts in going right handed in Ireland, then I think an impressive performance from fact to file could easily move him ahead in the pecking order, solely when it comes to chances of winning the Turners.
Ronan Groome reports from Leopardstown on Thursday where Fact To File emerged as another impressive novice chaser
That quote seems to be from when he won at xmas, the following day when grangeclare won Mullins said that grangeclare could go banc and fact to file could go Turners, and then he probably changed his mind again privately the following day

In a way it doesn’t matter but Willie isn’t likely to give up a favourites chance by running two in the one race. Especially so short a price. His issue is factored into the price anyway.
fact to file going turners could still happen as lots of stuff in the pot. Owners thoughts for one.
The French horse, Gaelic, ground, jockeys and all the usual stuff.
But if Willie can have 2 favourites in separate races that would be his normal MO

That was post race Leopardstown. He's initial reaction was the 3 mile race at Cheltenham would suit the horse. Connections seem to be of the opinion he is a horse they can settle fine in his race I'm not sure that was the case with GDC.
A few pundits have said FTF will be Willie's GC horse next season so maybe they'll go the Galopin route . All completely up in the air and nothing set in stone.
