  • That's annoying. "If it looks a weak race" !!
    Highly likely he'll run then.

Didn't get much of a break did he ?

Referenced the joint agreement between the owners that french gold cup is prioritised this year with Cheltenham gold cup in 2025.

      As you were.
Basically if Gaelic Warrior isn't there then

Imagine if they do run him in the Irish arkle and he beats Marine ?

Still think it's a possibility. Would love to see him run there and have a crack at Marine.

I will admit I have backed GW for the Arkle at a decent price, so a bit of wishful thinking there too

He's best on soft ground so makes sense for them to run him regularly when the ground is in his favour

Gaelic and facile to the Irish arkle

Grangeclare and fact to file to the flogas

              Seems perfectly plausible

market vibes suggest Gaelic might skip Dublin.
But I'm also involved at daft prices and related doubles so hoping he runs

                • Timeform have rated Grey Dawning highly:
Grey Dawning's victory in the Grade 2 Hampton Novices' Chase at Warwick on Saturday has been underestimated according to the ratings experts at Timeform who feel he has "all the qualities required to put up a proper showing" in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

                  Timeform’s highest-rated novice chasers:

                  160P Il Est Francais

                  159p Marine Nationale

                  158p Gaelic Warrior

                  158 Grey Dawning

                  157p Fact To File

Not sure how I react to that. GD has a mistake in him, as shown at Cheltenham against Ginny’s Destiny, and also his jumping at the last two at Warwick was pretty ropey to say the least…

Yes, he does, certainly at the shorter trip. The Scilly Isles would tell us more with regard his jumping. Not sure about the "ropey" last two, think Skelton was just being careful when it was clear he had the measure of Apple Away at the 2nd last and then when readily pulled clear by the last fence.

Looks like it confirms a 160 RPR for him if they take a similar view as both Fact To File and Gaelic Warrior got a 160 RPR for their last outings.

                    • I was hugely impressed by Grey Dawning. Not worried at all re his jumping. Even taking into account the front two going at it, he didn't just pick them up he demolished them and both are good horses. His Timeform rating being on a par with Gaelic gives me further confidence that'll he'll go Turners as for me that looks the softer race and he'll have no issues dropping back in trip. He's very good.

Andrew Blair White said on LTR+ that he picked up, when behind the scenes at RTC, that Gaelic Warrior may well run in the Irish Arkle.

                            • I'd be laying grey dawning in the scilly Isles

Jumps quite a bit to his left

And his scruffy jumping with the 7 down the back could see him exposed

Could see him struggling in that if they go there

Willie really has nothing to lose running gaelic in that race

Finishing 2nd to marine nationale still leaves him well clear in the turner's

He beats marine nationale he's arkle fav and already beaten the only real opposition
