  • Has there been any update on when we're likely to see Marine Nationale?

Just been wondering if there's a chance they stay over hurdles, especially if this cold snap last for another couple of weeks.

Last update I heard was Christmas, then DRF, then Cheltenham

      • Good test that race for novice chasers and the winner did it well, looks as good at his fences as he was at hurdling.

He did. Nickle Back went off out in front like Gaelic Warrior did, obviously a gulf in class though but a good test for Hermes to come through, for sure.

No idea about Marine Nationale but this cold snap is only a 2/3 weather event, going back up to the norm after Sunday, cold, but not that fear of cancellations cold.

                Proper stamina test that was

Hermes needs 3 miles I'd say

Possibly, think he's turners bound though as long as stay away fay keeps performing.
                  New course will help.

                        • That’s prob close to 150ish RPR on debut by Hermes …..Gaelic apart makes him good as anything over this trip so far

Sharjah & FAF ran 150….poss less improvement likely in Sharjah

                          Nicholls won it last year

                          • Nickleback has some engine, shame he couldn't put his jumping together but above average debut from Hermes and as mentioned above be getting 150 as a minimum you'd imagine for that. He seems to take a while to get going and we know from last year a few of the novices are quicker than him so you'd whilst a lovely start still have reservations at intermediate trips on him vs the best novices.

                            • I'm fully expecting Hermes him to go to the Scilly Isles, miss the Festival and then take in the Mildmay over 3m like Conti back in the day.

                              • Like Montys Star tomorrow at a price. Looked a nice prospect the day he beat hiddenvalleylake and search for glory over 3m. Always looked a big chaser last year - hurdles were never going be it. You know Henry will be at the table with a top 3m chaser come the festival and he looks a nice contender.

2 and 1/2 and first time out would be the concerns. A bigger price in the place market tomorrow would be ideal.
