    • Looks like Gaelic Warrior given initial RPR of 158 for chasing debut at the weekend. For reference Stage Star produced an RPR of 159 when winning the Turners last season

Tbf it was electric and thought they would give him a proper figure, the big question is what can he produce at Chelt really as if he could do the sort of figures he churns out on Rh tracks there is very little that will come out and be able to hit 160.

I think he has huge chance if goes Turners….ideal trip & less turns & jumps ….will need good ride from Paul to stay inside someone much as poss….,but they could run Sharjah too & team run it if needed

Easily best novice chase performance so far for me

          • How do you rate a race when the objective of the placed horses is to not finish very close to Gaelic Warrior?

Same with all the novice hurdles and novice chases really

            • I think you’ll get your fingers burnt if you back GW for turners. Willie has taken to saying whatever, when a microphone is stuck under his nose post race. It’s led to people thinking IEP was going turners and GW to the stayers.

All about jumping and this chap has to jump a fence left handed

Impaire et Passe would have been going chasing if Willie decided. Owners were very keen to give him another year over hurdles.

                    God knows why

And yes I'm still pissed off about my IEP to win the ballymore and turner's bet

I know what your getting at and in general this is very true, as I touched on the other day, it might of looked like a load of non buzzers but he went a proper clip up top until 3/2(eased plenty from 2 out) out. Much the fastest effort on the card comparatively until then and that's one way to try to put a figure to him.

Yeah, I got that feeling. Might turn out the right decision re his chasing career going forward but IMO State Man is still the only horse likely to give the great one any sort of race.

Poor old State Man...wins the big 2m hurdle at the weekend and not one post on here. He deserves better and I for one would love it if he came out on top in March.

I'd favour state man over IEP over 2 miles

He showed an excellent turn of foot on the weekend

                          • Agreed, State Man.. Mr Consistent
I'd have State Man to beat IEP over 2 miles atm

He’s a good horse State Man, and most other eras he would have a real chance of a CHurdle.
In March CH cruised to victory on the bridle.
For him to have any chance next March, CH has to regress, and no way should we want that imo.
Just enjoy a great champion whilst we can I reckon.

                              • Had a good read through posted on here, especially the one about siding with older horses grade 1'ers who are switching to fences

Sharjah is on my radar. I dont see a superstar turning up to the Turners. No Samcro, No Galopin Des Champs.
Facile Vega will run the in the arkle, Mr Traffic warden-man - no good. Gaelic Warrior isnt running in the damn arkle, the same horse who is know for jumping right, the same horse that was 'always crying for a step up in trip'.
I discounted Sharjah's performance, only because he came out earlier and I thought something would eventually come through. There time, but looking at the market... there aint much and I feel Willie has had Sharjah's name down for the Turners since day 1

RPR 152, 150. Decent enough. He hasnt been pushed or asked, then again, not great races. Jumped ok in the main. But ran on soft ground, he'd prefer better spring ground

20/1's still on offer. He isnt going to the BANC. I cant see him going in the Arkle whilst Facile is around.

So yeah, going to back him
