Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Only having a laugh. Doubt he could get outpaced in the mud. Probably make all, unchallenged and win by a fence.
No, that's true. A soft 2m is probably exactly what he wants at this stage.

Paying more attention to breeding in these races nowadays and a Walk in the park doesn’t scream NHC to me
I was in Galway when Favori de Champdou finished second to Affordale Fury
He jumped great and stayed on really well at the finish having been left a bit flat footed when the winner quickened
I will hold fire for now as Eddie O’Leary is quoted as not been the biggest fan of this race
Can’t particularly blame him as the prize money compared to the likes of the Irish Grand National is dire
….Favori de Champdou a Kim Muir or NHC type according to Elliott’s latest stable tour.

      • Trying to get my head around tomorrow's exciting Novice Chase clash for ante post purposes.

For now I'm ignoring Saint Felician for fitness and the fact he's been beaten by Darasso

Given my own position, a 'saver' with cashout on Inthepocket at 20/1 for the Arkle makes some sense - obviously if beaten easily he'd get pushed out and I'll make a loss but if he turned over Facile Vega he surely goes 2nd fav and single figures .... so I can see the appeal.

I do however think Facile Vega is most likely to win, and if he did win, would Henry be more likely to step Inthepocket up in trip? Not sure, he was only 3L behind FV in the Supreme .... Just 10/1 for the Turners seems a bit short on it's own, as he may get pushed out ....

However, backing Facile Vega (Arkle) / Inthepocket (Turners) 59.5/1 does have some appeal, as if they finish in that order like I expect, and fairly close again, I'd still quite like both, or at least really like Inthepockets chances more if FV goes on to win the Arkle.

Another angle would be Inthepocket winning, almost certainly for me, means Facile Vega is tried up in trip, so at 93.5/1 that also is worth considering Inthepocket (Arkle) / Facile Vega (Turners)

For those lucky enough to have cashout, this looks like an opportunity to me - we'll see!

        20/1 - Inthepocket (Arkle)
        93/1 - Inthepocket / Facile Vega (Arkle/Turners)
        59/1 - Facile Vega / Inthepocket (Arkle/Turners)

All with 365 - unlikely to suspend any after the event?

Hopefully Facile will beat him anyway to push him up to the Turners where I've already got him covered - and yep, I can see we want different things there
          18/1

              • Loving the fact Henry is taking on FV with Inthepocket over the minimum trip. Henry has a fantastic record with his 2m chasers at the Festival and he really knows the time of day with those sort of horses. His declaration is a Big statement for me and I'll definitely be getting on him for the Arkle before tomorrow's race.

                • Mr Policeman seems to have drifted a lot on exchanges…a worry?

not like it’s a non-runner, but sense confidence in the camp has diminished…..Willie not sounded that upbeat in comments

                    • If Klassical Dream was to take up his entry in Thurles on Thursday would he be qualified for the NHC after running over 2M6F?

no, needs 2 chases and one must be placed over 2m 71/2

                          • Surely with a good bet on ITP Arkle at 20s with cashout?

Have to run badly to drift that much ….,,and if he is close or wins, then prob shorten fair bit

Placed Supreme horses often do well in Arkle

Still feels value as assumption is he needs 2.5….but JP not won Arkle & Henry good at it

I'm still undecided whether to back him for it or not. Might just stay strong and go with my gut feeling. Great match up hopefully.
