Good enough performance by Giovinco having to give absolute lumps of weight away, albeit to inferior, but in some cases, improving horses.

I really liked that from Giovinco. Jumped beautifully. Clearly should be winning that but omitting 8 fences wouldn’t have done him any good. Looked to have a reasonable turn of foot too.

I think that's worth taking to be fair, certainly comes out of the race no worse than he went in

Aye I’m not a fan of that at all, 9 fences omitted I think!

Although don’t think it suits him lumping all that weight on that ground with half a mile on the flat for 2 circuits.

Decent performance though, up in grade next time to see what he’s made of.

Agree. BANC is proper all over the place ATM. Might become a little clearer after the next few days.

7lb would be harsh for that considering number of fences missed and only 2 3/4 lengths to 2nd with 3rd just 1 3/4 back. Looked to be ridden to preserve his handicap mark. If they are going graded next then why not just kick on and win as far as possible rather than stay on bridle? Shouldn't be any more than 5lb at worse. All roads leads to the Ultima .
