'FV has a better NH profile than MN' is refers to one being bred for fences and the other not.

MN was much the better jumper of Hurdles than FV. Connections have commented several times re FV jumping and how they hope he'll treat fences with a bit more respect. MN however has schooled over fences very well according to his trainer so you would say he has a head start there. Be interesting to see how long the two trainers can keep those two away from each other in order not to burst the bubble too early in the season.

PN just said on ATR that SAF will start out at Exeter. Think that’s where he started TOTG

Doubt he'll bump into the Turners winner but who knows!

Also said being aimed BANC but NHC also an option in the Cheltenham Kalendar - could see a late decision like what happened with Next Destination.

Did he name both races? Paul isn't a big fan of the NHC so lets hope SAF turns out to be good

"He is likely to be aimed at the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase, but he could go for the National Hunt Chase. I think he is capable of doing one or the other.

He is a good, strong, solid stayer and I'm convinced that he will jump well.”

Am i right in saying the Next Destination year was because the Pro could ride it in the NHC?

Cobden should be on him for the RSA if they get that far.

I'd say theres absolutely no chance he ends up in a NHC, way too classy and he won't have TOO many 3m chasers this side of the irish sea to deal with. They'll also ensure Harry has a nice ride in the BANC.

                          Hermes Allen for the BANC

TOTG was in the 2m3f in December (seems to have changed to 3m now too) rather than the 3m on Haldon Gold Cup day.

His runners in the November 3m in the last five years have been:

                            2022 - Flash Collonges (2nd)
                            2021 - Threeunderthrufive (1st)
                            2020 - Enrilo (1st)
                            2019 - no runner
                            2018 - Coup De Pinceau (1st)

A bit of a mixed bag, really (at best).

If he's going there, I'd be looking at rearranged G2 Francome at Sandown, then Warwick for the G2 Hampton and then Cheltenham. He's mentioned the Kauto Star for him, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't beaten there - he doesn't strike me as a future King George horse at all.

The revised calendar still looks to be a bit of a mess post Xmas - the Reynoldstown is your only real option after the Kauto Star and that is typically a brutal race.

One I very much think Paul will hold back for Aintree this season

So where does champ kiely sit in willies plans? I’ve always thought of him as a BANC of turners horse. Not so sure about him for NH chase this season. Would be more interested in him next season if he remained a novice. So with IEP going churdle and Gaelic warrior possibly stayers, then champ must be right up there.
