  • He won a tough AB that had loads pulled up on the ground.
Right now this smacks to me of a ground related late decision on which race at the festival .
At least we know he jumps well though.

    • Yeah very nice debut I thought, Colonel Mustard is a decent yardstick for a novice stepping up against a more experienced rival.

Jumped well making ground at most and going away at the end, certainly looks to be a trend follower for the Turners.

      • Found a Fifty much the better fencer compared to Colonel Mustard and ran away from him at the end with the missed fences. They'll be happy with that performance.

It was a very sold start with immaculate jumping.

Talk of being slow and NHC bound is premature IMO
Absolutely agree with this, the banc is not exactly a sprint.

Agree, The whole slow argument is a very premature, and kind of obvious anyway, they're fucking staying chasers quite clearly.
I do worry about the Kempton plans personally though.
However, Nichols knows how to win 3 mile chases around Kempton so who am I to argue ?

            • He'll go for the new listed race at Sandown next, which should be up his street, but I'd agree entirely that he's not remotely a 3m Kempton horse - I'd have Iroko over him there every day of the week, but it seems that is the early season target.

I'd say both Dan and Bredan were quite cute to keep away from him as he shapes like one that loves company and hustle and bustle where he can really grind it out.

The jockey availability will have more of a say IMO, so a lot will depend upon other competitors and horses in the same yard.

                  • Really pleased to be on Found A Fifty at 40/1 after that – I reckon he's going to be a class act over fences.

                    • Found a fifty really shows some horses take to fences! Loved the commentator reading back previous winners names! Hopefully Gordy sticks to the trend and sends him down the Turners route!

                      • Found A Fifty into 20/1 best price with the main bookmakers. Very fair, IMO, given what the current Turners market is looking like and also in comparison to what price Mighty Potter was after winning that race last season, in a much less convincing fashion.

Absolutely agree with this, thought it was a cracking performance

Yep plenty still to happen next few months.
After watching that today I would see him having a better chance of winning a NHC, but that can all change of course.

                            • Stay away fay won the Albert Bartlett over 3m, which has a very good record of producing BANC winners, and has come out today to show himself a very good jumper of a fence.

Talk of nh chase is very premature, there's every chance he just idled in front as he's still a very inexperienced horse. It'll be interesting to see the sectionals for that race to see if the other two slowed down or if stay away fay picked up and ran pretty quick after the last, in which case I'd say idling was the issue.

If he wins his next two races that nicholls said he'll go for, which may be uncompetitive races, then I'd say the nh chase is highly unlikely. Going to a lesser race with the Bartlett winner who's unbeaten over fences and leaving Cobden without a ride in the BANC? I think nh chase backers need him to lose one of his next two.

Yep, but it's a kind of obvious conclusion at this juncture as the 2 races markets suggest that the Banc looks much more competitive at this stage.
If any of the top 6 in the betting for the Banc started talking about the NH chase they'd be favourite in a flash.
