    • …Rubaud just won nicely over hurdles for Paul Nicholls. I recall somebody putting him up at 50-1 for the Arkle & I note in Nicholls stable tour he says ‘he’ll make a fantastic novice chaser and that could be this season’.

Needs good ground and Nicholls mentions ‘flat tracks’ so the Festival might not be on his agenda. 50-1 still available.

        Hold that thought......
I thought RUBAUD looked big enough for his first run of the season, so he's going to improve and he'll go to Wincanton in three weeks for the Elite Hurdle. That was always the plan; here and Wincanton. He stays on strong and goes a good gallop, so I'm thrilled with him. It suits him going right-handed and we'll probably run him in the Christmas Hurdle as then as something has got to finish second to Constitution Hill. It's good prize-money so we'll go there and we'll stay hurdling this season and then go chasing next autumn as he's only five. We did think about fences, but I thought he'd improve hurdling and we just lacked a horse of what I'd call his calibre to do those Wincanton races, the Elite and Kingwell, which would suit him quite well. He doesn't want a bog, while he's not slow, but is a staying two-miler - Paul Nicholls, trainer

        • Blimey, Quilixios did well to stay on his feet there.

          • Jumps badly right as well , unless Willie can sort that he's a no bet for Cheltenham

Quilixios? Trained by Henry De Bromhead

                  • ….Quilixios as low as 16-1 Turners after that win but PP/BFSB still 33s. General 33-1 Arkle.

For a reason maybe? One run in 18 months. Would need to see an entry first then see how he comes out of the race before getting involved.

                            • I know a few faces on here thought he didn't get home in his last run and were thinking more Turners so that's in the back of my mind to.

He's an enigma to me. Bred for a trip but runs like he doesn't want a trip.
